OpenBVE: R1-R9 Showcase on the (D) Line to 145th Street

Heres a little projects ive been working on quite a bit lately, a brand new R1-R9 for BVE. While progress is still being made on this train very slowly due to my college finals I have gotten a lot of this train done to where I think Its time to show you guys. The R1-R9 or the Holiday Train typically runs around December on the D line between 2nd Avenue and 145th Street. Im sure many railfans know about this classic route the holiday train runs every winter and today I have brung it to life in OpenBVE. The Train still needs quite a bit of work. These cars where known as "The Independent Fleet" and began service between the years of 1931 to 1940. The Independent Fleet was retired in 1977 and was replaced by the R44s and R46s. However despite these trains not running in regular service, its always a treat to see them running during the Winter time along the D line. Enjoy the Video!

It's always great to see the R1 to 9s, running again during The Parade of trains out of Brighton Beach and during the Holidays, out of 2nd Avenue.

I rode on this type of train going to Coney Island in the early 70's. On the Lex #6 Bleeker St transfer to the D train. The outside and inside model is accurate also the sound effect is there but i also remembered the "Roar" of the motors missing in increase of speed not present. Your very close in sounds and my personal favorite the ceiling fans and the dim 60w lite bulbs. And rattan/wicker seating spot on Bonus!! Cheers!!
