it also depends on how much you want to hatch. one of those 2L bottles filled with a boat load of shrimp needs the air hose and stuff so they all get enough of what they need to hatch and live. a couple in a relatively large container with a small number to feed like this is a different set of needs.
Liked. Bro, use the light method. Pipette is good. Now wrap the jar with cloth etc so its nearly completely dark. Leave a small hole at bottom. Now leave in dark for 15min. Then shine a light, flashlight etc. theough the ooened flap you used to make it dark. Do this at bottom!!!! Now ALL completely hatched brine Shrimps will follow the light and eggs stay behind at top. Suck up fresh brine without any eggs attached 👍 ( sorry for crappy explaining )
Thank you very much for this helpful video. It's very useful for me, I only need a little baby brine shrimp at a time and don't want to set up a whole hatchery.
Thank you for the feedback! The same as you. I only need a little for the time I breed my Panda Corys, and I'm hoping the video would be useful for someone like us. :)
Seems like a great method, thanks! 2 months later edit: It is a great method! Wow I wasted a lot of time, energy, and salt in the past for mediocre results. I'm using different ones than you, so I pull from the center of the water column to avoid what's in the top and bottom. And I need some new tea filters. The ones I have are pleated at the bottom which is a pain. I put mine near my vivarium light, because it gets around 90 degrees right under it.
Bruh I keep clicking those vids about brine shrimps tips thinking I can use them for MY PET SHRIMPS, and those vids mostly end up feeding the shrimp to other fishes 💀
So just normal table salt into water WHAT KIND OF WATER BOTTLED HARD OR SOFT? then just wait 24 hours i dont have heat to put it on so will it work just on window ceil in window?
How long do brine shrimp take to grow? Mine hatched a few days ago but they don't seem to be growing any bigger. They are just tiny specks. I have been feeding them powdered flake food.
@@ch34pwoowoo7 Not "any" kind. Salt containing iodine is bad. That is all the so-called "table salt" in the US as it contains iodine. That might not be the case for other countries however. Use Kosher salt, water softening salt or aquarium sea salt.
Ph needs to be around 8-8.3 and you need salt at 1-2 tablespoons per liter of water. It works best if kept at a temperature around 78 degrees Fahrenheit and has an airstone providing agitation.
Thank you for watching the video. I couldn't find the exact one, but similar (bigger) one. www.amazon.com/Marina-Hang-On-Breeding-Box-Large/dp/B005QRDCP2/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=fluval+breeding+box&qid=1615400680&sr=8-1
Baby brine shrimp are an amazing food to feed to induce spawning in fish and also is an extremely common and easy food to feed for fry. Bbs is usually fed to either fry or small fish, the extra protein also allows fry to grow much faster
Good for raising fry and just a fun experiment in general. If you look more into it and raise them into adults, they're actually very interesting to observe as well.
I'm wondering why can't I just put the eggs in a coffee filter Clipp it to the inside of the fish tank and it would have everything. Light, air and heat . Why not and then just turn the filter inside out and rinse it right in the tank
But again that’s why you use a light to lure the hatch shrimp away from the egg shells lol. Also you didn’t rinse brine shrimp with fresh water to get salt off of them. Doesn’t take a lot of salt water to kill freshwater fish especially fry
I watch Aquarium Co-op not rinse and just shoot his BBS with all the hatchery water right into all his tanks. I do the same and have not experienced any problems. and these are in breeding tanks.
salt is actually good for fresh water fish tanks in small amounts it makes it easier for fish to breathe and improves gill function as well as helping with a majority of illnesses
Mr Delightful, Please remove light rom your account name as well and make it deful daze. Ofcourse you can hatch brine shrimp eggs, without air pump, without light and without salt as well, but whats the use. The main purpose of hatching a brine shrimp eggs is not getting fulfilled here. The technique you have used to hatch without air pump is ok but that will not work for 2 to 3 grams of cyst, you need a bigger surface conainer for that, hence an airpump is used to keep the eggs in circulation in less water. The eggs will hatch without light but Light is required because its a trigger point for all the eggs to start hatch. Also the protein content inside the cyst is generated when you expose it to light, whats the use of feeding something which doesnt have protein generated in it. without salt also the brine shrimp hatches but dies in 20 minutes. so when you boast about something on net make sure you give all the details, or else there is no difference between you and other people who love to post shit on net.
Yeah this entire video that shows something being accomplished outside of the normal procedure just screeeaaammms boasting to me. Where did he say that this is the best method?
They have just as must protein. And how are you going to say they will hatch without the light and that light is required for hatching in the same sentence? He successfully hatched brine shrimp with barely any equipment. You are criticisizing for no reason and you look dumb
nice but a vid with just music is weak,, we are trying to learn,, how about a talking thru us thru each step? If wanted a music vid i would have went to MTV. you can do better bro... Now i want my five minutes back.

Not every channel needs to strive to be some overzealous UA-cam personality to still be appreciated. Did you feel like you need instructions shouted at you to learn how to raise brine shrimp without an air pump? lol
@@chelsieuk You should get results after 24 hours. Im not convinced the water needs to be hard. I use a couple of pinches of bicarbonate soda to help buffer the water. Not needed really as my water is hard. Before using eggs shake bag well as salt is at the bottom. Make sure your brand is hobby artemix as it comes with salt already added. 3 scoops is plenty of spoon provided. Make sure the hatchery gets some light. Room light is enough. The most important part is the salt because I have used spring water before and got results. You should get two days worth at least. Rinse and repeat. Great food source.
Every time I see all the "shrimp hatchery" equipment I think. Man sea monkeys were never that complicated
They are a mutated version of brine shrimp to make them a bit more hardy and easier to hatch
That's because sea monkeys are artificially made.
@@sadaokun1886 I have had my sea monkeys for 6 years now, they keep coming back from the dead, need some more ,, only got 6 now out of a few hundred
