I can always count on you guys for a laugh - your videos are hilarious. The part about the Great Henge was clever, I’ve never thought about it that way lol. Also love the deck - I was curious to see what a build with this companion would look like and I’m inspired to make a decklist of my own now :)
Personally, I would have went with Kenrith for the commander. Zirda is the goodest boy ever when Kenrith is in play. Draw a card for 2, revive a creature for 3, revive fox-boi when he dies, and you get access to all 5 colors. Zacama isn't a bad choice, but I don't like 9 mana commanders >,
Kenrith is already strong enough and also every Kenrith deck already runs Training Grounds and Biomancer's Familiar so Zirda is just an extra Biomancer's Familiar for all intents and purposes and that's just not that exciting.
Several tines in this video i thought "wouldn't x card be better?" But NO, IT WOULDN'T BECAUSE IT DOESNT HAVE AN ACTIVATED ABILITY Tough build around, you guys nailed it :)
@@NitpickingNerds i definitely see that, outside of maybe lurrus (oddly since he's taking over everything else) this might be the hardest builf around of the legal companions
I have a Jenara, Asura of War voltron deck that runs Nahiri in it, and i have used her ultimate one time, and only one time. But i tell you, that one time i finally got to use the token card for Stoneforged Blade that i bought specifically for that deck, oh man did it feel good. It felt real good.
Zirda + Basalt Monolith + Comet Storm = GG folks. I'm planning on making a Zirda deck where he's just the commander, and i'm going to use that activated ability cost reduction all over the place.
Here is a question that I have. Can a negative effect be a permanent ability? I have this card which has only a mana-tap ability that I can use if the opponent has more then me of something on his feeld. In that case the permanent ability wouled be a negative abillityeffgect...
Now, with the change/nerf to the Companion mechanic, would you say it's still worth it to play Zirda as a companion? Or do you think Zirda would be more appropriate in its own Boros deck as the commander? (Also, asking for Brawl, where Zacama is not legal.)
@@NitpickingNerds Zacama combos a lot as is but with Zirda ramping it up (no pun intended) it is absurd how quickly you can combo. Here is my list if you wanna take a look tappedout.net/mtg-decks/activate-this/?cb=1587763350
Nice! I'm glad you didn't go the more powerful cEDH level options like Breya or Kenrith. Those decks are strong enough already and Zirda doesn't really benefit them all that much. Your Zacama deck is actually made MUCH stronger by Zirda.

We didn’t want to just to make a 5 color good stuff deck was why we went with Zacama.
Well kenrith does not do much to your opponents creatures and artifacts/ enchantments

zirda is actually female
This is so so so sweet. I'm definitely building this deck ty. Omg HUGE
Hey Joe and Beezy! How do you think this deck would work with the new companion rule? Would you change anything in the deck knowing this new rule?
Adam Rhoades the deck would remain the same. It’s sad that the companions were so fair in and got nerfed so hard.

It was actually pretty tough, probably our toughest brew yet

Not sure what your question is, are you referring to the cost of the ability?
I may just include Zirda in the 99 of my angel tribal Boros build since I’ve got a few equipment in there.
The card is very strong. Nice to have this effect in boros.

When zirda was spoiled i also made a zacama deck mine was more combo based and budget. Though i like your build as well.
Count Bleck the deck can combo so hard!

Sunforger can unattach at instant speed.... it's not limited to sorcery speed
Why not spec a copy of Candelabra of Tawnos? There's currently a damaged one on tcg for only $400!
Or from China for ~$2 in mint condition like the one I have in my Korlash deck.
4:05 and very humble.
NotJoey we are the most humble 🙃
If both conditions are met can 2 companions be used?
Sadly, companion limits you to just one
