Brittany, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You are such an inspiration. I told you before about my knees and Lyme Disease, well I had just about given up on ever backpacking again and kind of resolved myself to car camping but after watching your video yesterday, I put my pack into the car, drove the 6 miles up into the mountains to a trail head and parked. I chose this trail head because most the trail is pretty flat and level for a mile or two. I locked the car, put on my pack and started down the trail at a snail's pace and barely able to walk. With a 10-minute rest at about 1/2 way, it took me almost 40 minutes to hike a little over 1/2 mile with the pack. (25 pounds with a liter of whiskey.) I found a nice level spot, took another rest and then set up my Hubba, gathered some firewood, readied my sleep system and sat down on the ground, leaning against a log. I sat there and reflected on my past hiking and what I was able to accomplish, and it felt SO good to be out again. I started a fire, boiled water for my supper and sat back and enjoyed Beef Stroganoff, a Little Debbie cake, some tea and the cool evening air. I sat around that fire, drank a little whiskey and bawled my eyes out. I just kept thinking of the day, the site, my accomplishment of just being here and reaffirmed my thoughts that I am indeed the richest man I know! It was a low of 24* overnight but I slept better than I have in months in my 0* bag. I woke up, had coffee, whiskey and broke my record with the trip back to the car only taking 30 minutes. I drove the 6 miles back home and I was beat but for some reason, I could not stop smiling! It was short, it was just over night BUT, I had backpacked again..........and I don't intend to stop. At 71 years old, I think that I may have another 10 years in me of 1-mile trips, LOL. I go to Springer every March and throw a St. Patrick's Day party for the hikers at Gooch Gap. I'm going to work out every day and hope that by March I will be ready. I think that this year, I may try to make it to Stover Creek for a night and then back out. Time will tell. Thank you for getting me back out on the trail......even for just a 1/2 mile! I owe you so much! Hike safe, Hike strong, Have fun!........go slow!🤣 geek

Not sure if you watch Goob's Adventures, He uses an external hard drive that he hooks up to his phone and transfers everything to save space. I didn't even know they made those. Not sure what phone you use, But if you have the opportunity for mini sd cards just have some extras, I set mine up so I take pictures, Videos and it all goes right to the mini sd card. It might help with future projects. Welcome to Colorado.
