thank you so much, for the life of me i couldnt figure how cali style looked so powerful without really stomping hard!!! Going to start fresh and relearn my running man
I watched your video last year when I first started shuffling. I could not get the CALI for the life of me. I just watched it again today, gave it another GO and WOW!!!! I am finalllllyyyy starting to hit what took my breath away a year ago!!!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!!! Respectfully, TInaMarie :)
Thankyou:) 3 months have passed since I started calishuffle. I live in Japan. No one teaches calishuffle in Japan. Your tutorial will help. Subscribed:)
Flowmi I’ve been practicing & noticed that once I pick up the speed my back/planted leg begins to slide a little. Is that okay, or should I focus on once jumping back keeping the planted leg completely planted and no slide at all? Thanks in advance for the help! :)
@@Nikomvmnt so I actually mention this in the video! Once you start to pick up the speed you'll notice that the planted leg does slide a little and that's totally fine/normal! The reason you focus on keeping it rooted to the ground while you practice slowly is so that once you gain speed, the little bit it slides is not noticeable. ☺️
I’m so Cali I didn’t even know I was doing calistlye shuffling lol I always felt like I was doing something wrong and adapted to Melbourne style since that’s almost all you see🤯
I’m glad to see a Cali style tutorial in 2020! However, Cali style is more complicated than it looks. Because there is 3 generations(types) of Cali style. The reason why I said “generations” is because our Cali style changed as our EDM evolved. Meaning, alot of Dj’s added their own taste (Style/Version) to EDM. Most DJs would mix EDM, Hardstyle, jumpstyle, House, Trance, Techno, Dubstep and a lot more to mention. Our Cali shuffle is a mixture of “Melbourne shuffle” aka “Hardstyle shuffle”, Malaysian shuffle and Trance Shuffle aka “cutting shapes shuffle.” I added links to give you an idea of the types of shuffle we based on and what our actual “Cali shuffle” is like. Link to Melbourne: ua-cam.com/video/ZPaMdxC6CQI/v-deo.html Link to Malaysian: ua-cam.com/video/wvnw-jtlDyI/v-deo.html Link to Cali Style: ua-cam.com/video/oup-gVQgbCw/v-deo.html I hope you dont think I’m bashing your video. I actually love your video and the fact that youre aware of our style. I’m happy to know that it’s 2020 and our style is still out there. I spent over 100+ hours watching shuffling tutorials back in 2008 because I wanted learn so bad. And just when I had gotten good, it started dying out. I really hope Cali shuffle comes back before I get to old! 😅

Hi! Thank you for all the wonderful info, I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. :) I am just going based off the knowledge I personally have been offered about this style, so I am sure there are gaps in my knowledge! I can promise you shuffling is coming back , but Cali style is still more low key in the shuffle industry.
I guess I'm old 😅 i remember when cali was two step and intricet shapes cutting, Melbourne were long glides and spins and mas was the aggressive one-step
Johnny Carbajal So the RM for both MAS and Cali style are extremely similar. From my understanding the way you land the RM for MAS is slightly different than Cali and it’s also typically used for hard style music. If you were to see me shuffle you’d have no doubt in your mind that my RM is Cali style, but you can’t really tell from one singular move. Hope this was helpful 😊
Isn't that MAS style not cali? Cali is that on the spot foot work type stuff, same two step running man as Melbourne but for intricet footwork, mas has always been the one step. Check out the old crews like soul faction (agents of chaos)
I appreciate the question, but MAS is actually more like Melbourne than Cali. Cali has the different footwork for the RM. I am not sure what you mean by MAS has always been one step, when this RM is definitely two steps? Everyone on UA-cam seems to think this is MAS but if you go on Instagram, all the old crews define my style as Cali. My Cali crew also defines this as a Cali style RM. I may have made a few mistakes while explaining the RM as it was one of my first videos, but mistaking this style was not of of them. Thanks though :)
@@safewayplaza8275 I mean, I have been doing this style for 2 years now and shuffling for 4. This was my first tutorial video, so I definitely could have done things better looking back. Thank you though :)
Lmao I sound so rude. I'm sorry, its been over a year since this video I'm sure you've improved drastically. [: cant wait to shuffle at festivals with everyone again!!
@@safewayplaza8275 I mean i like to believe I have LOL It is ok though, I do agree this could be better but things can always be improved once we look back on them! I appreciate the feedback. :)
We can agree to disagree, because I am quite frankly on an OG Cali shuffle team and my teammates would not have recruited me if they didn't deem my style to be Cali style. As you can see from the thumbnail, I am bringing my knees up and the height of your knees is NOT what makes something Cali style or not. Your knees can be low to the ground and you can still attain a Cali style 'stomp', in my opinion. If you disagree with what I am doing, that is totally fine and by all means you can make your own tutorial videos! :) Thank you for your feedback! :)
Could not figure this out for years lol THANK YOU so nicely taught!😍
