  • On a nice evening, PNWR 2317 leads the usual 664 transfer through town. This train caught peoples attention as the train gave them some extra honks as people watched in excitement.

I actually saw the same locomotives leading a northbound local train passing through the ORHC when j was filming the Polson Logging 2 yesterday

We don't have PNWR 3006 anymore. They went on the 664 then 4 BNSF manifest trains. Now moved to Utah. These are the trains in order:
    1. PNWR 664
    2. BNSF H-VAWFRS
    3. BNSF H-FRSBAR
    4. BNSF H-BARSTO
    5. BNSF H-STOPVO

What determines if a P&W train comes south on the SP (UP) and over the river on this route, instead of over Cornelius pass? Are they allowed a certain number of trains per day or week to use "horn ally" and go this route? Like they are allowed one train per day on the UP main north of Albany? Very curious...

Its all random, the best way to know when ones coming is listening to the scanner. Theres no real limit to their running rate, its all as needed.
