So yes all hail the tribe that links most tribes in West Africa historically and culturally.
Just a conjecture the word pickin pidgin for child is the portuguese nickname of king Ofoli of little Popo which portuguese called pickin popo. In time the word was used to describe the terrible liitle infants (Ga migrants to little Popo)
