He is not against Ottoman and Turkey simply it's Ottoman and Turkey. Rather, he's against some practices of Ottoman and Turkey. For instance, the Ottoman insisted to make war against Orthodox Christians in order to take over Constantinople even though those Christians had tried to find other peaceful way by willing to submit to the Ottoman. This is clearly against the Quran. Furthermore, the Ottoman then turn Hagia Sophia their cathedral into a masjid - this is also against the Quran.
