Boiling water inside a light bulb

- The 10,000 watt halogen studio bulb had air in the envelope and it was not usable, it began to smoke inside on low power up.
The filament almost resembling garage door springs were still intact, we could not resist a crazy experiment that has not been done before that we are aware of.
The lamp was filled with water by breaking off the gas filling pinch seal on the top then filling from the tap.
The filament in these lamps burns at 3200 degrees, we were sure it would boil water.
If the water filled lamp had been put on 240 volts it would have ruptured instantly, so we used just 30 volts going into the lamp, with a few amps of course because the filament has a much lower resistance when cold thus it will draw more current.
It boiled the water rather well, pressure was building in the lamp, steam was almost being ejected so hard it was nearing the ceiling. The lamp was being controlled by a variable voltage transformer, the water would be on a nice simmer, and one turn of the voltage dial, the water in the lamp turns to a boiling fury. - Наука та технологія
This is the closest thing to blinker fluid we will witness
My wife wants to know why I'm watching dodgy videos with ejaculating lamps...
tell her if she is allowed to watch ejaculation vids you are too xD
in this video photonicinduction reinvents the humidifier
In this video, Photonicinduction reinvents the tea kettle.
beat me to it!
i want to buy a photonicinduction tea kettle.
+Sam Sitar something tells me Photoninduction products would far exceed Energy Star requirements ;)
Energy star compliance just means the machine needs X more cycles to do a given task, where X is how many stars they give it on energy efficiency.
I want you to voice the villain I've written in my show.
1 million volts muhaha
"Do you expect me to talk?"
"No Mr. Bond, I expect you...to pop!"
hahaha, good one :)
LMAO!
“I popped him”
“MUHHAHAHAAA”
Photon, the oil companies will pull this down because it shows water turning to steam without the use of oil. We all know what happened to the steam car. Next video should be highly illuminating
It might be a bit hot mate! Say hi to Ed if you see him, I know he is busy working.
I'd say it depends on what his local power plant's fuel source is, LOL!
i have a theory big oil wants "we the people" to re-invent the water car, so they can force water onto the stock market as a commodity like oil or gold....water cars have been done so many times-the earliest reference my search has found was 1938 in the U.S.
+m3sca1 Do you mean steam powered cars?
logitech4873 steam, hydrogen, water + carbon, there are many ways water has been used to propel vehicles. I don't just mean steam.
Ahh, a typical tea time with Photonicinduction!
this guy needs to get with Colin Furze!!! Wait..... maybe that's a bad idea......
I agree these two should get together, that would be one hell of a collaboration
And the slow mo guys
Colin knows what he's doing too, you stupid degenerate 'fuckboy'.
+System Void Why did you use that word as a quotation? Only you used it, and you don't have to quote yourself when you write.
lazaglider I wasn't quoting. You use 'thistypeofthing' when you're making up a word/phrase/term, too.
put the kettle on willya
+1 that statement
IS THIS FASTER THAN THE JETTLE !!!
I love that Andy brings out some serious sh*t - then does something bizarre with it.
That's a cool bulb.
RIP Photonicinduction... you will be missed my friend....
@@googleuser4720 I'm beginning to wonder if he bit the dust.
@@googleuser4720 good news! He’s back!
Jah for indoor grooving 👌😏
You're a white, male, American, twenty something year old, aren't you?
this would be fantastic if liquid soap was added!!!!!!
Next, a light bulb powered steam engine.
This by far one of the most entertaining videos I have seen in a very long time. Great work :)
when you need to boil some water for tea with none of the wait
When you combine this channel with Big Clive, it's like the best classes I had back in school. You sit down, you have a great teacher that imparts you with the knowledge you seek, teaches you the theories, etc. ... then you take those theories, go outside and blow shit up. Damn, I miss those days...
Today i learned that not every video needs a "i popped it". Thanks for being back again and making video mate, its great.
Hey Photon, i just wanted to say i freaking love your videos. Ive always loved cool science videos, and also destructive videos, and you always manage to perfectly blend the 2 for me~
I love watching you make things pop, and generally zap the everliving crap out of everything. please, keep making these awesome vids, and ill keep enjoying them!
PS: Favortie vid was you exploding coconuts with electricity.
Cheers!
If you put a toaster in the bath could you boil the bath water?
maybe if it was magic
well....jump in and see
+TheMagicToaster you've waited your entire UA-cam life to type that haven't you?
if it kept working perfectly, sure. it would just take a while. you could definitely do it if you hooked up a stovetop coil to mains.
Maybe if you used distilled water. Taper water would contain too many dissolved ions, and it could cause for a large amount of sparks.
You have literally none of the things that make a good UA-cam channel, and yet I can't stop watching...
A bit of a contradiction there mate :)
+Photonicinduction lol, to clarify, I mean you have none of the things that traditionally make a successful channel. I can't point to WHY I enjoy your videos. It's like trying to explain why Uma Thurman is hot. I have no idea why, she just is.
As someone who knows nothing about all the things you do, ive watched all your videos from the start, I find all your videos very interesting, inspiring, entertaining and funny. I would say this is my fav channel! I am always looking forward to your new videos.
Sort of reminds me of those death shower heads.
in Brazil they are very common, almost everyone have one of these in home
next video, photonic induction powers up a man sized bulb to 10000000000 watts and blows it up with no safety equipment, survives, doesnt flinch, dissapointed by results.
Loving these weekly uploads Andy, Keep it up! :)
Hi Photon! Another amazing video as usual! Can't wait to see the next project!
LOL thanks Andy!! Glad to see vids comin through again!!
Cheers mate
Can you blow up a ceiling fan
Replace the sodium light you put outside with that one and make your neighbours think they have overslept.
RIP Photonicinduction... you will be missed my friend....
@@googleuser4720 they are still alive and living tho
You're a mad man, I'm so happy to see you back doing what you do. Can't wait to see the big bulb mate, keep it safe.
So good to have you putting out regular vids again mate! GG
I'm sure it would be interesting to you, dear reader, to know that this lamp costs £520GBP. 520GBP for a lamp. 😂
It was broken. So it’s worth noting
And it’s costs make sense in the context of where they are normally used. It’s literally 100-200 bulbs worth of watts. So about 3gbp per normal bulb equivalents
Still cheap compared to some projector lamps!
Should definitely do this again someday with something silly, as you mention around 4:07, like petrol or diesel :))
Hopefully not inside his house like he does normally
FROOM
I missed you so much. we need more channels like you.
This is exactly why anyone who is interested in electricity should watch everything you've done... You're a gentleman and a scholar! I look forward to meeting you one day, if ever possible...
Could you do this with petrol for us
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIKOLA TESLA!!!
Thanks for explaining the setup.
These are terrific videos ! I really enjoy them !
Thanks!
Even though this is from 4 years ago, Im glad you're back on UA-cam! Looking forward to future editions from your back catalog and eventually some 4K insanity!
You should try to do a collab with ElectroBOOM!
Lol. I think it would be interesting to see what'd happen with distilled water if a spring wasn't touching a wire or something so instead of heating the water it began to have the electricity directly move through the water to reach the terminals and perform electrolysis. Would be fun but dangerous cuz if it sparked...
I'm so pleased you're back love your videos! You really do make me laugh! Thanks Andy!!!
No worries :)
+Photonicinduction I have sent you an email about a USB adapter
Another great destructive video. Thanks Photon!
i would hate to be this guy's landlord!
I presume that he owns the place!
but what if he is the landlord
Then, I would probably still hate to be him because I'd die by electrocution :P
*****
His neighbours are pretty friendly towards him, oddly enough!
And he goes off grid when he's "playing around" (as he's shown on earlier vids.) :)
Christ, Andy 😂 How long did it take you to dry everything?!
You know this is exactly what it looks like when a reactor loses pressure this is a very good visual aid
so glad your back photonicinduction keep it up!!!
Where are 10k bulbs used?
stadiums, etc.
A huge fast food restaurant heating lamp
ur mom's dentist
they are also used in the theatre industry. i have a toshiba 2kw lamp that no longer works because the filament melted. it was used in panama's national theatre which is closed indifinetly because its falling apart
Factories, warehouses, stadiums, shopping centres. Many places.
You my friend just invented a new type out sprinkler
of*
Photonics induction brand sprinklers?
I'd buy them. They'd be a great prank light bulb actually
But it would definitely explode if turned on. xD
MrRootbrian RB the one in the video didn't.. you just need thick glass
This is the greatest channel on UA-cam.
i just love watching what you do in your videos! More more as they say in the theatre!
Water + dangerous electronics = GREAT IDEA!!!!
yeah, he's a noob with no idea of what is doing. /s
What if you boiled gasoline in it?!??!?!?
need oxygen in a good enough ratio for that, otherwise it will behave just like the water did
+? I don't think you know how science works.
+Mr Mürk put a modest amount of watts through it via the Very Large Capacitor and it should explode. If the filaments remain afloat and burning for a while then a second explosion should follow soon as the gasoline has been thoroughly dispersed in the air. You can also place an operating spark gap next to the lamp just to be sure.
+Mr Mürk indeed, it's the vapor that's explosive, not the liquid itself.
+Ron Garren Or simply arrange to crank the voltage so it arcs across the filament terminals as soon as there is no longer any resistance...
That was awesome, can`t wait to see the next one, nice to see ya back.
This channel is great glad I came upon it.
what is a 10,000 watt light bulb used for?
ur mom's dentist
in a Sportsground, like a soccer ground
I mostly see Metal Halide, which has got to be more efficient than incandescent.
Anything that requires an insane amount of light. Movie theater projector, lighthouse(?), etc.
+Brian Fundakowski Feldman metal halide IS incandescent
---How To Make DIY Water Boiler---
-Buy AMD Processor
-Take Off The RAM
-Turn On + Overclock Your CPU
-Place Ur Tea Or Coffee On CPU Processor
Wouldn't running some code on it increase efficiency, which is easier with RAM still in it?
Niko Andruloni but that Would make sense
This aged like fine milk... It's Intel's turn now
I love these light bulb videos , i have always bin fascinated by all the different types and most of all the super powerful, such works of engineering art
Nice! Ya had old Glory gushing in your okay room! Great video!
you always sound really stoned
Will u fill the next one with weed and invite me over to cough cough.... spectate ? hahaha no seriously...
Other than that request you're the literal bomb ;)
Nothing Original that's a horrible idea, you wanna use wax instead of pure bud.. would last way longer
whahaha nicd video andy, glad you are back again!
Boiling water in a 10000 WATT rated bulb, simultaneously surrounded by transformers capable of revving thousands of volts and not to mention the plug in which it itself is connected.
This man definitely has some balls.
Yeah, those sounds when he's walking ain't footsteps lol
I was just waiting for the soap and water to make bubbles! Awesome video!
Look who got featured on Right this minute!YOUR ON TV :).Nice vids man.
Great video!
love your videos mate.
keep up the current stream of videos. awesome.
this video is ridiculously satisfying
Fantastic video, I thought it would pop from the pressure, another learning experience
At last i have found something on UA-cam that is worth watching .
I think this is one of the craziest things I have ever seen....
AWESOME VIDEO MY FRIEND, KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK!!!!
You obviously haven't seen any of his other videos. This is sissy stuff in comparison.
+RalphArwen
Oh I have, it's just every time I see a new video of his, he always levels me in a state of "shock and awe" lol
Blufox22 I know, right?
^_^
Great vid as always. cant wait for the next one aha
I love this channel.
By god Photon you've done it! I'm not sure what you've done but you've done it!
Wow. Quite surprised the filaments are so close to the glass and it does not say "Burn base down"
Thank you.
would have been awesome to see you overload it with the water in it. but cool all the same. I'm just glad to see you back. You take good care of yourself Andy.
Great video
This dude is a trip. I would have been worried about the bulb exploding from all that steam pressure.
Water in a halogen bulb...what an imagination! Looked like a geyser! Great fun!
04:06 - OMG! 😂 You made my day! Thanks for this one!
I bet your indoor grow setup is amazing lol
well thats a unique humidifier... haha great vid !
Nice Video 👍🏻
The real day mad scientist!!! Love it!!! 👍
This guy is a legit mad scientist and that diabolical laugh...I love it!!
very nice experiment
2:28 When you break the seal after a night of drinking.
This bloke is a legend!! 😀
The phallic symbolism in this video is fantastic
that is one HELL of a humidifier... perfect for those cold and dry winter days!
hahaha that was pretty violent, I bet your ceiling has a nice damp patch now lol
I look forward to next weeks mega-bulb :)
You're crazy!!! Where did you learn all this stuff? Very smart. Can I ask what your job is?
Bloody sick and twisted! Love it! Now who would like a nice brew?
You are the madman the world needs.
Wow your a bit nuts! I like it!
You're crazy bro!...I love it!)👍
This channel is so cool
Crank up that BigBoy Supply! More power!
PHOTONINDUCTION KING OF THE INDUSTRY
Excellent job, you built an itty-bitty water heater...
Beautiful!! Would have liked to see it switched on, though.
Very cool bulb Andy! I've recently acquired a 5Kw GE/MAZDA bulb like yours only 120v not 240. It still holds its gasses;) so if I want to tan a bit I just fire up the trusty arc welder.
