I remember when the cornfield Nhat and sister-in-law harvest today, was where water was and their house was built over the water, and the village came and helped Kong and wife Pick up their house and lift it up and move the house onto solid land, and NOW the water was diverted to other side of house from upstream. Many videos ago. I am mistaken. House was moved, yes. but just further way from water .

I wonder if other smoke in background is more families shucking corn and burning the corn shucks afterwards. Glad that Kong burn it, not Nhat burn it, because her lungs cannot do smoke very much still.
Yes it does indeed appear Nhat is prepping small patch of earth for sprouts of rice, which later will be separated to plant in the rice paddy.
I admire her very much because she has a rhythm to the way she prepares land, and has no worries. She is a woman close to the earth and its needs, and close to her husband who is a man of the earth..... they are close to each other's needs.
Have you ever operated that cutting tool he is operating?
I have when we were cutting brush on our farm. The vibration from it is so much it makes your whole upper body feel numb.
This would be very hard and bad for Nhat, so fresh from being very ill. My sister and I took turns using that machine, and since she was 4 years younger, healthier and stronger than I, she did majority of the work.
I do not envy Kong that job but it is far easier and much faster, than cutting by hand.
After cutting the corn, we would pick it up with a chopping machine, move it to the silo and send it up a chute to become silage down at the bottom of the silo. It ferments under the weight and heat of itself, inside the huge cement tube beside the barn. Later time, a large screw shaped machine under it sends the silage to the cows in feeding troughs. Cows love to eat it in winter because it ferments and cooks the corn leaves and stalks.
I would be very happy to know the both of them personally and count them among my closest friends.

Either way I think they should retain the mountain home. There is no harm in managing both; most of us also own/invest in more properties than one as fall-back measure.
