Shannon Sharpe does this so well. Don’t believe me? Look at how grateful the guests are when you list at least some of their accomplishments. Their faces light up. Idk, it’s the little things. I take notes. Overall, great podcast, keep it up fellas!
Hearing Beal's PHX move story shows us how Pat Riley really failed Jimmy Butler 3x in a row. Beal, KD and Dame all wanted to go to the Heat. Dame tried to force his way there! Pat's GM skills are not on the same level as his coaching was. Championship coaches are just not good in front office roles. Same thing goes for Phil Jackson (ironically, both Phil and Pat were on the 70s Knicks championship team).
1. Pat doesn't trade for superstars or stars. Shaq's the only one. 2. Butler has never 'complained', so it shouldn't be seen as a big deal. 3. Portland were not going to help Dame move to the team he wanted. Besides, Miami's reported trade offer of *only* Herro & several first rounders didn't make sense, considering they already have Sharpe & Simons. 4. Pat didn't go for Beal because it was the *right decision* . Imagine if Miami DID have him, they'd look much worse than they currently are. Beal isn't a starter anymore and can't stay healthy. Not even 'Heat Culture' could save Beal from his injuries🤷♂️
