    I, for one, don't agree with the 'derma has basic routines' statement, are people forgetting the dermas ALWAYS say, they have injections for surprise zits? They do laser treatment FOR FREE because it's THEIR equipment, of course they will have basic routines because they have EASY and DIRECT access to the very expensive treatments that really works. For us, we could only rely on products, it might feel expensive but it could last us months, and we can't afford the treatments, which is not only one timr anyway, it's more of a maintenance
    Although, yes, celebrities can afford it, and of course, they do use the treatments frequently, but their skin care routines are more for pampering their skin instead of keeping the acne at bay

    I think the problem with “fragrance” and the discussion around what effects it may or may not have on the skin is complicated because what makes up fragrance is not regulated and can be any number of compounds and differs from company to company and product to product. This makes it almost impossible to assess what kind of impact it is having on the skin. Personally, I err on the side of caution and avoid it but really who knows.

      I've read from The Little Book of Skin Care by Charlotte Cho.. Essence, Serums, Boosters, Ampules are done after Toner and before Sheet Masks. Moisturizer is the second to the last before Sunscreen. So basically it should be the one with the lightest consistency first then the creamy ones last because the skin would find it hard to absorb anything that is applied after creams like moisturizers and sunscreen so they should last.

      @@jodyarmstrong6667 Ha, yeah there's a lot of conflicting information out there. Typically moisturizer is second to last, right before sunscreen-- but that's in the daytime when people wouldn't usually use oils.
      The whole lightest consistency to creamier consistencies concept isn't really a set rule; it applies more to serums - which are water based - rather than oils.
      A good moisturizer will have 3 components: humectants, occlusives, and emollients. The job of a moisturizer is to keep your skin hydrated by preventing transepidermal water loss; at night your skin is repairing itself so this becomes even more important, and people look for more occlusive ingredients.
      "When an occlusive cover is applied on the skin [the oil], the transepidermal water loss is inhibited and the skin moisturises." - Gioia, Francesco, and Leonardo Celleno. “The Dynamics of Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL) from Hydrated Skin.”

    I am 47 right now, but since age 3 our internist recommended the Nivea blue tin for my dry skin (with underneath it some sweet almond oil, a few drops on a cotton ball rubbed over the skin). Since turning 44 I switched out the sweet almond oil for a hyaluronic acid serum and it's been great. I still use that tin and my skin has no "permanent" wrinkles yet, not even crow's feet. And I don't use a separate eye cream. That is amazing for dry skin, and I owe it all to that darned blue tin (it rhymes too LOL). I definitely agree with basic skin care and it doesn't have to break the bank!

    It's important to note that the HA serum she talked about was not pure HA! It had an occlusive as well (Squalane) so it DID work to prevent Trans-Epidermal Water Loss, but not all HA serums have occlusives, in which case you would need to follow up with a moisturizer that does have one. HA is a humectant and attracts water and moisture, but it doesn't retain that moisture, so if you're in a dry environment, for example, it might draw some moisture out of your skin (which occlusives prevent). I'm not an expert in any sense shape or form, just watch a lot of these videos so please take this with a grain of salt and go do some more research :)

    About that acne on very dry skin! I had that in my 20s, pretty bad cystic acne. My dermatologist made the antibiotic cream in an "oilier" base, own concoction and unfortunately it didn't help (good cream though). I went on birth control (as it was hormonal) and that pretty much solved it. Right now I have one bump and haven't had this in many many years! What a coincidence. :)

I don't know that they'll be gone quickly-- it's important to carefully introduce these steps in your skincare routine and build up a tolerance. The best results come through consistent use-- no shortcuts.

      Sarah V you have to admit what susan said is right though, make up wipes are not only bad for the skin but also bad for the environment except for those make up wipes that are biodegradable though, it’s still bad but better than the typical make up wipes, constant friction around the skin is fine but if it’s too much it can cause aging. the golden rx on youtube is an esthetician and she herself in her videos said that she is not the biggest fan of make up wipes which what she meant by not the biggest fan is that she hates them basically and also micellar water. the double cleansing step is lit and can actually get all of your make up off unlike those trashy make up wipes that contains an overload of fragrances and alcohol 🥳

    • @gracelessnesss
      @gracelessnesss 4 роки тому +1

      once you go off accutane it should be fine to go back on those ingredients but not while you are still on it, you might not need to because i remained dry several months after accutane.. some people recommend waiting until 1 month after you go off of it, that is when you can start giving blood again. I was on it as well, for 5 months. For now, good ingredients to stick with are sunscreens, niacinamide, every ceramide ever, and hyaluronic acid :)
