The thing that impresses me so much about this video every time is how alert the guys in the back are. The second they hear that there's smoke issuing all 3 start putting on their BA and hoods at the exact same time without even looking at each other or communicating.

FIREMAN RILEY . Brings back memories of my 4 years at HQ in the 70s.. I drove the flyer, a Dennis Rolls .The Runner another Rolls .The Second call motor , another Rolls .The Salvage motors , a Leyland super 6 and an Albion Chieftain. At times I was rostered on the district truck or canteen and often drove the blue bird (the supervsing officer) . I had my turn in the Control and relay room . I retired in 2008 aged 60 after 33 years and still have the odd dream of still in the brigade. Great blokes great job.

so as expected, pretty much no one moves to the left.

Interesting bit at the end saying you are obliged to follow road rules. Contradicts what we see many members of the public saying including those who claim to be emergency workers. It does however match advice of NSW Ambulance.

This is a brilliant video. Now condense it down to 30 to 60 seconds and get your Public Relations Department to put it on commercial television as an advert, so that pedestrians and road users can be educated on how to respond when they are approached by an Emergency Vehicle, such as a FRNSW Appliance.
