On Veteran that damn mission with the ship and crates took me an entire hour from the allied AI picking their noses in the back corner, the fucking armored grunts being invisible and having the ability to shoot through the walls, and the cargo killing you instantly was insane.
I hate the hard difficulty, because all the enemies, doesn't matter if they're shooting you with a pistol or an ak, feel like they are just a 30 mm autocannons with thermal imaging on two legs.
I don't understand how every single enemy has inhuman reflexes, You can barge into a random room and the enemy does a 180 and starts shooting you in literally 10 milliseconds. That's not what I expect from a "realism" mode, I like the game but the enemies are literally aimbotting you constantly
There are some games that genuinely understand that not all players are absolute gods, and just need a bit of a helping hand to become better, so they use the lower difficulties as a way to train lower-level players, in order to help them eventually tackle the highest difficulty, like DOOM Eternal, which I don’t think anyone can genuinely say is a bad way to handle things, you know, encouraging everyone to tackle the game at its most challenging, but allowing for what amount to learning experiences and training, with lower difficulties. But the vast majority of games just go “Medium is what we intended everyone to play on. Anything lower, and you get a complimentary glass of warm milk, with a rubber nipple to make sure you don’t spill any like the baby your are. Anything higher than that, and we just programmed the game to block 80% of the screen with a giant PNG of a middle finger.”
cod difficulty has always been like this, tbh, it's a different way of going around the difficulty of a story mode in a game, especially one that revolves around more realistic, grounded themes than doom eternal. i don't find it to be necessarily a bad thing, it's more of a different philosophy that emerges from not wanting the "intended experience" to be so hardcore in the first place, hell, even with doom's attitude towards difficulty, there's still people that won't get to the "intended level" of play, especially those that aren't really looking to dedicate their time to mastering the game, with this in mind, to make call of duty, the most casual, mainstream first person shooter games in modern history, encourage people to try out the hardest difficulty seems like a mistake. i do think that doom eternal's way of going around difficulty is superior than cod's, but at the same time, i don't think that cod would be better by going down that route, especially due to it's tendency of being balls to the wall extreme on harder difficulties to show that, yes, chances are that a single bullet would kill you irl, but since this is a more casual game, medium ends up being the intended experience, and if the player picks "veteran" with a warning that *"you will not survive"* in a realistic-ish shooter, it was kinda expected in the first place.

What an amazing timing. I just finished watching the VOD a few minutes ago. And I can feel the pain of Pyro struggling at the second last mission, even if I didn't play the game. And unironically one of the better gameplays compared to other channels doing the live gameplay that their main bread and butter is literally games like CoD, absolute gamer moment
Has someone who's played it on realism it is very much pain, I can very much sympathize with Pyro, I can say that Violence and Timing is still my favorite mission doesn't matter what difficulty.
@25:00 The Desert Eagle actually uses a special ammo type called 50 action express not 50 bmg which snipers use. 50 action express is still a devastating bullet and would definitely still go thru that wooden box.
Ive played almost every cod campaign on veteran and the hardest definitely either goes to this one or CoD4. MW22 all of the AI knows exactly where you are at all times and are always aiming at your head, the moment you step out of cover for a second someone has killed you. Cod4 the enemies just endlessly respawn so you are never safe
World at War has the Japanese and Germans fitted with endless stockpiles of grenades. Never again shall I take the Reichstag with 10 grenades at my feet.
I tried this for the achievement after beating the game on normal, honestly felt like I was being punished, trying to push up the stairs out toward the tank part in ghost team took 70 minutes because I would be 1 shot by a heavy in 0.1 nanoseconds of going up the stairs. Personal I would just play the campaign on normal if you want to enjoy it.
I actually did realism for my second play through and as long as you take it slow and have patience during the last few missions with the pseudo juggernauts… it’s actually a blast
Well this difficulty suits well during stealth clear house unconventional and vehicle combat missions. Basically everything outside boots on the ground.
Pyro’s experience with Phillip Graves’ and his men was exactly how I felt. Except, I was at a even worst Respawn. I Respawned in the stairs in one of the buildings and every time I would get shot by Graves’ tank or get obliterated by his men. It took me an half hour to realize I had to swiftly run up to the roof and camp up in the roof with the c4, throw a c4 on the tank to get a new checkpoint which was now the roof. Then I had to go to another building for c4, camp that roof and finally blow up Graves tank. Which that took me another half hour to do.
As someone who has beat Elden Ring, I can confirm veteran mode had me screaming a couple of times. Thankfully the automatic saves make it just barely less annoying. But man, some of those missions like the tank one or the end of "alone" where you have to get to the church had me reevaluate the meaning of life.
Did this challenge too for my first playthrough. My buddies and I agreed that it really felt like no one play-tested the higher difficulties for some missions, because if they had, the missions probably would've still been fun. Instead I spent 9 hours annoyed as hell because they wanted me to return fire on an entire mob of armored enemies while my AI Teammates just sprayed 5 miles above their heads. That last little bit near the end with a certain "hunting for C4" was stupidly unfun too, almost especially so. Overall, game was disappointingly mid, adding a sour taste to my hope for fun CO-OP.
@@derpstick5467 Honestly yeah, nothing about it really sticks out to me as "badass." There's no fighting through a suburb while Russians fall from the sky around you, there's no fighting your way into a nuclear sub base to stop a missile launch, and there's not a single Burger Town to defend. It feels soulless in a way, like they tried to recreate missions from the first two MW games without being too similar, but what they ended up culling were what made those original missions amazing. Also just a lot of slow stealth scenarios without the feeling of "Hunter stalking prey." You're just hiding in shadows or lying still in grass for a minute or two before walking off to do it again down the road.
@UCWBJSx-NcDkws0b4SWtIa4Q I played the first few missions again on Normal afterwards and it still didn't make it fun, it just made it easier. It just feels like the game really doesn't know what it wants to be, probably due to being made during Covid.

Finished the entire thing on Vet except the last checkpoint on Graves fight because the auto checkpoint was so dogshit I would spawn in the middle of the arena, with no ammo, with armored enemies spawning on top of me

I actually switched to Regular after spending 30 minutes of dying on the mission where you fight Graves inside a tank.

That kill that ghost does in the first mission actually isn't fully scripted, if you drop him before Ghost can do it, he'll pop a bullet into the guys head to make sure he's dead after you killed him and move on lol
Pyro has now annoyed me: Desert Eagles come in 3 different calibres .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .50 Action Express (AE). .50 AE is half an inch in diameter, same as the .50 BMG that some “sniper” rifles use (more often anti-material rifles) but .50 BMG is one hell of a lot longer than a .50 AE, about 4x the length and the length of the barrel in rifles such as the M82A1 Barrett greatly contribute to the muzzle velocity of the projectile, in order for it to have the range and penetrating power that they have, suffice to say a Desert Eagle does not have that length, velocity, and thus penetrating power or range.
