I actually remember seeing this float on TV back in 2004. I was a little girl back then and a big fan of Barbie as well. Maybe that's why I remember it so well. I got excited when I saw the float when my Dad turned on the TV on Thanksgiving Day. But sadly, even though I lived in New York for a brief amount of time, I never got to see the parade in-person.
My two cousins and I were on this float when we were 7, and getting to rewatch one of my core memories on UA-cam whenever I want makes my heart so happy🥹🖤

They're just actresses lip-syncing the parts. I mean, the performers are always supposed to lip-sync anyway, but no, they aren't actually Lyons and Stevens.
No. They are just lip singing. They normally do that for performances at the Parade due to it being outside, it being streamed on tv, and issues that would come up with sound of mics and how not everyone in the crowd would be able to hear well enough. If you take note, the music and voices are exactly the same as the movie, because they used the song as the audio.
