Well Done, I am at this exact decision point today between a TR5 and a TR6...... I have flipped back and forth and I am going for the 5 and consider it a bit of an investment years from now... Gotta go Old School!
Fuzz. I hold the same reasoning as your good self and that 5 speed box takes the edge of the 5. The 6 is the winner . ( probably because l have one !!!)
Nicely presented Fuzz, (although you did start waffling a bit in the last few minutes 😊). I guess investment-wise rarity is always king, so it would depend on whether you are going to drive it around at weekends, or perhaps just add it to an existing collection, seal it up in a warm dry heated plastic bubble and just watch it’s value go skywards! 👍
We would all like the TR5 but the TR6 represents a financially more realistic option. Still a very well designed car but not as beautiful as its older sister.
For me it’s the TR6 however i do love the front of the TR5, Fuzz always easy to follow and great to watch

As a Tr-250 owner, it's the best of both worlds.....
The look tight pants tucked in boots with side saddle hat covered with cool shades shades or the TR6 or TR5 hard choice.
Was that the same as the engine in the Triumph 2.5 PI? (my first car, pre owned of course, lol) Oh Yeah and I would have the TR5 in an instant too!

Can someone help me. I was always told that the TR5 had a five speed transmission and I dont mean overdrive. Thanks.
Has anyone ever seen a factory air conditioned TR 250, TR 4 , or TR 250? I see it was available but Ive never seen one.

They are both very good looking cars but for me the Italian styling beats the German one hands down.
Your hat is crooked.
All part of the charm!
