@hiddenvalleyfootpaths2561 Hi Andy , you live in such a beautiful part of the world. In your recent vidio when you took us for a walk with you we couldn't help feel the history of Cornwell, the place fairly reeks of it. Just beautiful. I was born in 1957 and live in a rural part of New Hampshire (an English name for sure) and have seen many changes. Many places I used to frequent as a kid are now off limits to me. Everyone seems to have a need to post their land, even for walking. Guns have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, with never any problems. I wish people would be held accountable for their actions, not make it sound like the inanimate object (whether gun or stick) be the problem. Big changes are coming to America also, I'm afraid. Stay well.
@larrynason8716 Hi, Both me and my wife have become fascinated by American and its culture and various terrains and landscapes .Maybe we will get over for a holiday and see it first hand. I have been on stop overs while heading to Belize, but not properly . I do watch a few gun related UA-cam videos, and they are educational and entertaining. If I am correct, your part of the USA is famous for autumn colours of the leaves out in the back county, so you are blessed to live there . The whole of the Western world seems a bit of a mess at the moment. Your elections are top news here, and I guess worldwide. Stay safe and take care. Andy.

@@hiddenvalleyfootpaths2561 Trail Breaker, Track Whacker, Brush Breaker, Bush Breaker, Bush Hiker, Bush Walker, there could be so many, English has such great words.
AS one who has delved into the subject in Canada I am amazed at the option to try to list weapons? Our process here is quite gray, we make laws broad and vauge, the public cannot read clear expectations, and you will be judged after the fact. We do classify firearms and try with some knives, then it goes gray. The best example is bear spray, just about every comment online will say it is illegal to buy bear spray. They base this on the fact they cant find it where they go shopping and that folks using it for anything other than bears get charged with using a weapon. IF you ask at a sporting goods store or pet store you get it without ID. So how gray is it? If Im crossing the border to with the US, either way, if they ask if I have weapons I say no and the spray is in a biking gear bag. Keep that same spray in my door pocket of my car ready for a road rage incident they may proceed to treat me and my spray as a weapon. So in Canada the gray is anything that may be used as a weapon of choice in the moment if 'the intent' was to harm with it. For the record...I live and worked in tempred rain forest...bush means vegitation I dont want to walk through, lol....and wacking is what we do to that brush, when the tool is blunt. And as per in the US bushwacking means to go off trail, make your oun route. Funny how some out here would carry a hatchet, machete to bushwack but they are not called out as weapons, until you wear your work gear into the coffee shop on the way home. This got very silly for me and a speeding ticket. Here we can dispute the ticket and sit down with the cop before the judge. I saked him why he did not do his complete job and ask me to sign the ticket, just handed it to me. If they do not get a signature they need to fill out a form indicating why they did not. he said he was afraid to hand me a pen, I might attack him? I was wearing a neck support as my neck was ceased and I have no criminal record. I asked to see the form which he could not find. I was so mad at his insinuation that I was violent I just told the judge he could not produce the form so had no evidence and it was thrown out. Your product is safe here, as long as your intent is to wack bush, we have no laws about that, unless its in someone elses yard, lol.
Hi, fascinating first-hand account of how laws surrounding weapons work within Canada. Canada is one of the few places I would like to visit .Sounds like you have a hard but beautiful job out in the bush.Bear spray is something I would imagine you would give to the kids when they go outside as a normal precaution. As for the pen incident, I can imagine that would be frustrating, to say the least. Many thanks for the comments and insights to the way laws and regulations operate in other parts of the world. Thanks for watching. Andy.
@@hiddenvalleyfootpaths2561 My account of the pen was more to sympathize when a huge assumption is made labelling you in that way. Cops never act like this, I was simply pointing out to the judge he was having an off day and dont take it out on me, lol. I have to laugh at your references to bears, I cant speak for Canada, one big reason, I live on Vancouver Island,, It is said we have the best fed bears in the world, there has never been a report of 'preditory' bear behavior on the isalnd. I raised my kids using the term 'scaredy bears' , raise your arms and tell them to leave. Our black bears are more the type you see in videos swimming in your pool, raiding your birdfeeder, or opening up your car door for access. If I were to speak for Canada, as a tourist in the forest and hiking/camping you might want a can of spray, however the numbers of incidents is rare and the use of spray has no real statistics to say it made the difference, its more of a comfort thing. Proffetionaly I always had one, never used it, kept it the back of work vest not on my hip, never knew anyone working on the island using one. The best travel advice in a country this size is ask a local, we will keep you safe. On walking sticks, I am a user and just wanted to tell you about the most popular stick material in at least western Canada. I encourage you to look up Diomond willow if you are not familiar with it. Probably one of the most naturaly artistic woods around. Fitting is tough, you dont want to mess with the natural beauty buy cutting a hand grip, you go throgh barrels of them looking for the natural wood feature that fits your hand, hard to do. AS for a Bushwacker, sadley this wood is about as light as it comes and our brush is a tough as it gets, lol.

Andy.
This is the uk we have karans all over the place
@@davidcole2899 America has her share of Karens also. So many people here hate our Constitution, it really is heartbreaking. I myself have seen many changes in the people's attitudes in my 67 years. None for the better I might add. 😥
I’m gathering from the accent that the maker is in the U.K. In the U.S. carrying such appliances as canes or walking sticks are protected by Federal law, even when traveling by air. Of course FB may do exactly as they list, and they do.
Hi , I am from Cornwall in the UK, and we are heavily restricted in items considered to be dangerous and potential weapons. Unfortunately, this selling site went a bit to far in their interpretation. Thankfully resolved now. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
Almost ANYTHING Can be perceived as a Weapon.
Hi, yes, it can. Our laws would be able to test that concept in a court. The world we live in now I am afraid. Thanks for watching. Andy.
In the US, Bush whacking is going off trail through the wilderness.
That might be the modern meaning, but the original meaning is quite different. I have always understood it to mean lying in wait to attack someone unexpectedly.
Hi,very interesting the amount of meanings attached to this word .Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
Hi I guess that could reference the civil war connection of ambushing. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
Bush whacking used to mean shooting someone in the back especially from a place of concealment it was seen as cowardly
Yes, it's definitely a weapon,, and that's what we all need in this day and age.. 👍
Hi, there was a time in our history the ordinary common man would have carried a sturdy stick for protection. The law states clearly that we can't now. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
How about “Trail Blazer” ?
Hi, that sounds great , I think that will suit a multi-day hiking stick I am working on. It has different features on it more suited to long distance hiking. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I use a walking stick every day, and it's as tall as your hiking stick. It *can be used* as a weapon, and I do know how to use it as one, but its primary purpose is a mobility aid. Nobody has ever given me any hassle about it in more than twenty years.
As I replied to someone in the above comments, any stick (or other item) can be used as a weapon by a trained martial artist or military person. Even a really pissed-off grandma can use a stick as a weapon!
@@kalinystazvoruna8702 Oh, yes...keys, lipstick, pen -- anything can be used once you know how! And it really does not take much training.
Hi, thanks for watching, We have very strict laws here in the UK, and enforcement is taken seriously by the authorities. Thanks for watching.Andy.
Hi,The UK has stick laws on what's considered a weapon and circumstances of use for us. This means ordinary household items can put you on the wrong side of the law in some circumstances. Thanks for watching,Andy.
I am so sorry that you live in a country that is so fearful of their own people, that they are even afraid they might possess a stick that could be a weapon. It is not a sign of the times, it’s government oppression and overreach. I thank god I live in America 🇺🇸. We will fight for our rights as they were given to us by God, not a government.
The ordinary British person has for a long time felt like the country has been heading in the wrong direction. Voting for alternatives never seems to end this decline. Ironically, many are looking towards the USA and hoping some of that change comes our way through political pressure. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
@ I wish you all the best.
Taking the piss but you can buy cold steel fighting sticks with no problem! When yours is clearly not meant to be a weapon 🙄
Hi.This experience has made me wonder about the stick items you have suggested also.Mad world we live in now. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
Absolutely ridiculous snowflake overreach! You shouldn't have to change the name, the function of the item remains the same. (Also, my cousin makes custom sticks with carved handles, King Charles has one of them.)
Hi , It's a sign of the times and sadly a reflection how much we are regulated past a reasonable level. That's fascinating about your family member making sticks. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
Any walking stick IS A WEAPON to someone skilled in its use that way … think Chinese rice flails ( now numchucks) . That’s no reason to stop people using them for the intended purpose … John Wick kill three men with a pencil 😂
Hi, we live in strange times and have to adapt to these changes. Your correct almost any thing can become a weapon. Thanks for watching. Andy .
TOTALLY WACKO ANDREW!!
Hi, It's is a different world these days. People have said this is the new normal, but it takes some believing things have come to this .Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy
