  • This is my ride to Panama City Beach for Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally. I review the Klock Werks 5" windshield and talk about some of the different causes for wind buffeting. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks for the 5'' wind screen review and all the advice on the buffeting. It will be interesting to hear your review on the 6.5'' as well. Sounds like the 5'' screen did well. The 6.5'' will be better for your wife for sure.

si the view... (I realize this is over a year old video) but is the camera mounted on your chin? Cause the view is THRU the windshield which is not something I would want .. Or is the camera low but your eyes are over the windshield

Watched your video for the third time and was wondering, when you were going down the freeway at 75 MPH with the 5'' screen and discussing the buffeting issue, was the buffeting coming from under and from the sides of the tank so bad as to not allow you to see well? Was your helmet shacking from side to side? I purchased a Simpson helmet because you and a few other Street Glide riders say it works well on their bikes. Or is it just a nuisance? When you raised your hand up over the helmet, was the wind clearing the helmet, did the 5'' seem to work well.

Yes the minor buffeting I was still receiving was coming up from beside the tank instead of over the top of the windshield. The wind line coming over the windshield cleared my helmet by about 1.5 to 2 inches and I am 5'7". To answer the issue of how bad it was no it wasn't bad enough to not allow me to see well or a nuisance in any way. I am actually posting a video tonight of the 6.5" which is the shield I will be purchasing. So take a look at that video once I have it up. The end of the video I put my hands in front of my knees and you can immediately hear a difference in the wind noise in the mic showing that the wind is still coming up from beside the tank. However it is very minimal in terms of buffeting. The 5" did work well for me but the 6.5" works a little better and will definitely be better for my passenger. The Simpson helmet does a lot better with the wind than any previous helmet I have owned. The amount of buffeting was greatly reduced with the Simpson helmet and stock windshield but these windshields just make it that much better. Hope this helps.

@@BanditMotoVlogs Yes the information you provided is extremely helpful and thank you very much for taking the time to write back. I have purchased a Simson helmet, not the model you have but the Outlaw and may also get the Bandit model latter if necessary. Also I am going to try the 5'' screen and see how that works for me as I will be riding solo. Also on the ST model, it has less padding on the seat and looks to be around 3/4'' lower.

I was think tab as well for exhaust but didn’t know if it would void my warranty or not!

The slip ons alone will not void your warranty. From my understanding changing the head pipe is kind of up for debate on whether or not it does or doesn’t and is dependent on your Harley dealer. However using a tuner other than the screaming eagle tuner will void your warranty.
