Really good question. So I wouldn’t necessarily discourage someone who is just starting out from taking the certification, as the preparation process will equally equip one with the skills and knowledge required in order to be comfortable with administrating a Kubernetes cluster. But this should ONLY be done when the individual has a solid understanding of core concepts such as Networking, Load Balancing, Containerization(using Docker), some level of Security etc. As for less advanced certifications, there are loads of them. As a matter of fact, there is the KCNA which is a pre-professional certification designed for candidates interested in advancing to the professional level through a demonstrated understanding of kubernetes foundational knowledge and skills. This certification is ideal for students learning about or candidates interested in working with cloud native technologies. I believe this is a better starting point for beginners. 🙂
Thanks for the kind words. So for an unemployed beginner trying to get more familiar with Kubernetes, there’s a lot involved. The starting point should be understanding the Kubernetes Architecture, then progressing to Kubernetes components such as pods, deployments, statefulsets, persistent volumes, etc. Then they can progress to more advanced concepts such as network policies, security using RBAC, etc. Kubernetes is such a broad technology with so many parts to it. So my suggestion for a beginner is to take a course on K8s from platforms like KodeKloud. I also have a Kubernetes playlist on this channel, which a beginner can follow as new episodes are released.
You're welcome! Yes, external monitors are allowed during the CKA exam, but you'll need to share both screens with the proctor. The Linux Foundation has specific proctoring guidelines to ensure a fair testing environment. Make sure both monitors are visible to the proctor throughout the exam. As the exam requirements can be updated, it's always best to check the official exam instructions for the latest guidelines and tips before your exam day. You can find them here: docs.linuxfoundation.org/tc-docs/certification/tips-cka-and-ckad. Good luck with your preparation!
Yes, learning Kubernetes from KodeKloud's CKA course will help you a lot when you work with EKS or AKS because the course teaches core Kubernetes concepts and skills. EKS (AWS) and AKS (Azure) are managed Kubernetes services, so once you understand Kubernetes, you'll be able to apply that knowledge to these platforms. Your AWS experience will make it easier to integrate and manage EKS specifically.
So proud of you! This is a very helpful and well explained video
This was helpfull, tysm bro
I’m super glad you found it helpful. 🕺🏾🥂
Thanks for sharing, would you advise someone who is just starting out to take this certification first or are there less advanced certifications?
Really good question.

That 93% in such a key cert is huge🎉! It's generous of you to help others, to spread your success to others through this video. Kudos!
Thank you so much for your constant support and uplifting words. 🙏🏽
I really appreciate it. ❤️
Thanks for sharing Coach! 💜
Thanks team Coachli! ❤️
I appreciate your support.
Wow, this was super detailed. How can an unemployed beginner get more familiar with Kubernetes?
Thanks for the kind words.

May I know which system you have used for the exam? External monitor allowed ?
You're welcome!

@@the.devopsdude Bro one more doubt, Can we open multiple browser tabs and terminals? or we restricted to one?
If i learn Kubernetes from Kodekloud's CKA course, will i b able to work on EKS or AKS (I already have good enough AWS hands on knowledge)

Hello can i use monitor with laptop to comfortably give exam
Hi 👋
Yes you are allowed to use a monitor alongside your laptop.
You would just need to have both screens shared with the proctor throughout the exam.
