Thanks so much for this tutorial. While I am a SLIGHTLY advanced user I was able to follow this through but this tutorial is outdated. It says 2019 but Its uploaded in Jun15 2018. Google has changed the webmaster tool and it looks completely different now. As well as the Yoast Seo tool is a little different.

Darrel, Great tutorial BUT I messed up. Help please. Yoast said my keyphrase didn't appear in the slug. I was working on my shop page. I don't know what I'm doing. I changed my "shop" to the keyphrase and saved (website/shop to website/keyphrase). Nothing happened. Still the same notification by Yoast. So I changed it back to shop. Then I followed your tutorial and when I checked on my sitemap I saw that the shop link was still website/keyphrase. It's a broken link with 404 error. What can I do to fix this? Gee I hope you still check your messages to this video!

I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I'm a little confused. I followed this guide and set everything up correctly, submitted my sitemaps, and optimized all my text and content until everything was a green light, or at least 98% of my website. I'm just confused as to what to expect or how long it takes for things to become noticeable. I say that, because I have a landscaping website, and when I type in "landscaping near me", my site does not show up at all, and what does show up are landscaping companies that are not local at all. Also, if I just type the name of my company or website into Google, it doesn't show up at all. You'd think that typing the exact name of the site would definitely get it to show up in the search results, but it doesn't, so I'm confused. I understand the challenge in trying to rank higher than other websites and appear higher on the search results, but not even being able to find my site by typing in the exact website is pretty unacceptable. I'm not expecting the SEO to take effect immediately, but I'm not really sure what to expect at all, or how long an average wait for results is. Can somebody please shed some light on this for me if possible? I would greatly appreciate it.
Hey Darrel, for the part in search appearance general at 12:10 , do we need to re-write something again as we did at the start of video? I already wrote my general site title and added a separator etc... Do we need to choose something here (for example the separator we need), or do we leave as is and blank in Meta description? This is the most important general site description right?

My experiance wityh Google Webmaster tools was somewhat different than how you describe it. I had to download a file, them upload it to my website and verrify. then I get an overview page that is a little confusing, making the rest of your video a little hard to follow along with.
Any suggestion on how to do SEO, for a single page WordPress website?
