wow. Colbert and his crew standing up against Mulvaney and the decision of his bosses - they are amazing. great show.
I admire him for his coughing comments on th Oscars hypocracy and standing up for reason against his bosses. Integrity is so rare.
That CBS higher ups would even consider hiring Mulvaney just shows how completely morally bankrupt they are.
On the CBS hires, management is made up of former staffers to Republican Politicians. They don't have anybody from the left or even the Democrats on their Sunday shows. I feel Colbert is just giving the illusion of an objective network that can be critical of itself. No challenge to power, just the illusion of it; comedy used to lull people rather than elevate them. Always remember, this is the same network that said "Trump is bad for America but is good for CBS" They are wolves in sheep's clothing and that is why they are more dangerous than Fox or OAN.
How else do you think clearly-conservative shows like "Blue Bloods" manage to get so many seasons of airtime on CBS?

He will probably more contribute to CBS morning news and evening news then anything. He will not be able to touch Colberts staff. But CBS has always been a pretty conservative station. At least my local news is like that. What is sad is pretty much local news will probably suffer the most.
Stephen's monologue tonight was a strong statement in opposition of the decision his network made, and I really respect that. Hard to stand against the higher ups
Colbert is a comedian, it's his job to take a stand against the higher ups. So, it's not really that hard when you're a comedian, unless Will Smith is your higher up.
It's easier when you have an iron clad contract and there isn't a huge list of people to take his place that would want too.
Also he's stated on multiple occasions that every monologue has to be vetted by lawyers before it airs. He didn't actually take a jab at the bosses. His writers composed a series of jokes that the bosses' lawyers approved to provide the illusion of taking a jab at the bosses so rubes would cheer for it while Mulvaney goes on to work and be paid millions for it as if nothing changed. Just like every other time this exact thing happened

3. Authorised the drone war program that has to date killed 90% civilians. Including multiple American citizens

5. Attempted to overthrow democratically elected governments in Bolivia, Chile, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Columbia, Paraguay, Haiti, Vietnam, and both Korea's
6. Authorised a spying program on American citizens
7.Lied under oath to Congress about all of this.

I was lucky enough to be at this taping, a double taping of the Thursday and Friday night episodes... This bit got the biggest reaction by far but...without giving too much away, the Friday interview, is well worth the watch. It was engaging and you learn something.

How Mick Mulvaney has any currency left with anyone is a mystery. Democrats should hate him because he was an enabling toady, Republicans should hate him because he left their sinking ship (even if only at the last possible minute), and Independents should hate his "Kroger-brand Hugo Strange after being punched too hard by Batman" vibe (and pretty much everything else).
I hope Republicans get crushed in the midterms so that CBS is stuck with Mick Mulvaney and the knowledge that they made a deal with the devil for nothing.

I think throughout the preceding year of the election he made his opinions known this well has to be a blow to people who probably have much more insider information than a common person with the privileges of his status I can’t imagine being in that circle and being able to swallow that without at least Choking on it for at least a minute.

A Congressional Medal, maybe. Not the Medal of Honor. There is a huge difference between the two. The chief difference is that most Medal of Honor recipients died doing something extremely heroic in battle.
