I’ve just found this video. As others have said, it’s a very fitting tribute and I’m looking forward to seeing her in steam. One question though, why does the plate on the smokebox have the dates 1914-1919?
Many thanks for watching and your comments, much appreciated. I think the dates are 1914-1919 because some railway employees were still serving for a while longer in 1919 after the war ended. Can't be sure of this but thought i read it somewhere.

The unknown warrior, 13065 on the tender, 5551 on the cab, honouring railway employees, who were killed during wartime. Will look great, when this locomotive is finished and in steam up
Thanks for your further comment Stephen, I understand. Sometimes words don't justify the tremendous bravery of our our armed forces and all those who sacrificed everything for our freedom. Regards, Jeff.
Sometimes Governments choose war with too little justification. But I never criticize service men and women who are prepared to stand in harm's way for others. And if they had not done so in 1939-45 I would have been born a slave. @@bobnweaver
Many thanks for your further comments Stephen. Hopefully it will not be too long before we see this locomotive steaming and gracing our main lines and heritage railways. Regards, Jeff.
"Tomb of the unknown warrior" is a tourist attraction in Russia, honouring a Russian soldier with no name? Visited by newly weds, brides in their lovely dresses
There are "tombs of the unknown warrior/ soldier" in many countries, memorializing the soldiers who wil killed or lost in war and who's body was never recovered/ identifed. Each one, I beleive, contains one such unidentified body. In the UK, it's in Westminster Abbey, in France at the Arc de Triumph, In Italy at the Victor Emanuel Monument, and in the US at the Arlington National Cemetery. Here's a list of many others en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomb_of_the_Unknown_Soldier
The Patriot classes are my favorite locomotives of the LMS
Can’t wait to see it in steam soon

Very nice pictorial video Jeff with music to suit the mood of the day to mark the memory of the fallen service men and women. Allan.
Thanks Allan. I had to get the music right for this one so hope it is ok. Cheers, Jeff.
Beautifully done, Jeff and very moving with the music. Many thanks. 👍
Thanks for your comments Allan. it was nice to get a look at this new loco and it was a very good event for Armistice Day. Cheers, Jeff.
A stunning piece of work Jeff, this is the first time I've seen 5551, and what a magnificent job they've done on it....Best wishes...Bob

An amazing bit of timeshare, thought of course very sad. We all forgot the famous locomotives, but we should seek them.out and and admire them.

Great Video Jeff of the new Patriot build!

Many thanks for your comment Edward. Regards, Jeff.
Filmed with sensitivity - thank you. Brian
Thanks for your comment Brian. It was a real pleasure to be there at Crewe. Regards, Jeff.
I want to see this engine in steam soon
The engine is almost completed but it needs its boiler to be painted
Thanks for that, Jeff. I'd heard that it was to be moved from Llangollen but not seen it.
Thanks for your comments Allan, it will be a fine addition to the steam locos on the main line and elsewhere when it is finished. Regards, Jeff.
its sad that all of them got scraped but its going to be good to see a new one back on the rails
Many thanks for your comments Rosario. Agreed, it will be good to see a new one back, hopefully in the next year or so.
It says that it will be in steam by 2027

The locomotive looks like it’s almost completed
It’s ashamed that none of the original LMS Patriot Class in their unrebuilt or rebuilt versions were preserved.
Only in Britain will you see a bunch of brand new steam engines. I'm humbled by it all.
Many thanks for your comment, much appreciated.

funny because one of the patriot's basis, the claughtons, had 2 member which were number 1914 to pay respects
When will the locomotive be in steam?
Thanks for your query. The last date I heard was 2026 but I think there has been a further setback with the project so, it could be later.
We have three years until the engine will be in steam for working order and mainline operation.

Tastefully done Jeff, a fitting tribute to the fallen.
Many thanks Nige. A great effort by all the volunteers. Regards, Jeff.
Always thought that the Patriot class were all rebuilt as psuedo Scots ?
Some were and some were not I am told. Thanks for your question.
When Will it steam?
I have read that it may steam sometime next year.

Great achievement. (I prefer 'killed' to 'fallen' as a more honest description of what happened to my great uncle in Sept. 1918.)
