The Swami & The Rabbi: Jewish Mysticism meets Integral Yoga

Inspired by the annual "Swami & Rabbi" programs that Swami Satchidananda and Rabbi Joseph Gelberman engaged in for more than a decade, now Swami Ramananda, a senior monastic student of Swami Satchidananda, and Rabbi David Igber, a senior student of Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, continue the spirit of these dialogues.
They engage in an inspiring conversation illuminating Jewish mysticism as a profound path to personal liberation and spiritual enlightenment as they explore how the teachings and practices of the Kabbalah overlap and are synergistic with Integral Yoga Teachings, as well as areas where they may differ.
Hosted by the Integral Yoga Ministry, a Yoga and interfaith ministry dedicated to the understanding that "Truth is One, paths are many" as taught by Swami Satchidananda, an interfaith advocate and visionary.
Rabbi David A. Ingber is the Senior Director for Jewish Life and Senior Director of the Bronfman Center at 92NY. He serves as the founding rabbi of Romemu, the largest Renewal synagogue in the United States. Rabbi Ingber founded Romemu in NYC in 2006, following his ordination by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, Founder of the Jewish Renewal movement. Rabbi Ingber also founded Romemu Yeshiva, the first fully egalitarian Yeshiva, dedicated to mystical and meditative Jewish learning and practice.
Swami Ramananda is a monastic disciple of Sri Swami Satchidananda and he serves as the Executive Director of the Integral Yoga Institute in San Francisco. A greatly respected senior teacher in the Integral Yoga Tradition, he has been practicing Yoga for over 45 years. He co-developed the Stress Management Teacher Training program bringing Yoga into corporate, hospital, and medical settings. He’s a founding board member of Yoga Alliance and co-founder of The Spiritual Action Initiative, working for social justice for all beings and the care and healing of our natural world.
