She’s been and still is the household name for female superheroes. Ask a random person who Scarlet Witch or Black Widow are and they probably can’t tell you. But I guarantee 99 if not 100% of people you ask will know who Wonder Woman is. I haven’t heard anyone talk about Black Widow other than to say how bad her movie was. But Wonder Woman continues to be iconic even without many good movies or tv shows.

I think there is a difference between iconic and popular. Spider-Man is definitely the most popular superhero and has been my favourite all my life and is obviously really iconic but I feel Superman is the most iconic as he is literally the embodiment of what a superhero is and is what most people would picture when they hear the word superhero.
