I don't understand why they chose to make the trucks controllable in the air, just make it so the throttle can control in air rotation just like real life and in steel titans. Very Disappointing.
I'm right there with you. I feel like I've been deceived! All the promise of realistic physics, great gameplay, raceways (which you can barely tell raceways from stadiums cause it all looks the same) is non existent. Milestone has said they spoke to drivers about the feel and attended events to take notes...WHAT EVENT DID YOU ATTEND?!?!? I know damn well Blake Granger did not tell you "When I drive, it feels like there's no gravity and you float in space. Anytime I hit cars they bring me to a stop and then fling my truck in the air for quadruple flips!" I can go on and on. I've completely lost faith that monster truck fans will ever get a legitimate real feel monster truck game for consoles. The closest was Steel Titans 2 and that game gave promise that everything was headed in the right direction but this P.O.S. Just ran the promise and those hopes of monster truck fans into a concrete wall at 200mph. I don't want to hear about ROR or Beam NG cause I'm talking consoles and before anyone says they gotta make it like this cause kids like it that way, well my kids who love monster trucks as much as me hate the game and haven't touched it since they played it for just 45min Thursday. If I could get my money back from Game Stop I would.
@scooterman3 the same way they do in real life.... they don't unless they wheelie into a jump(mad scientist front flip). These trucks are amazing with normal physics, didn't need to be tuned into gta type air controll. Completely ruins it for people who actually understand what these drivers do to manipulate these trucks, they don't just magically start rotating any direction they want.
@@j.stewey4793I totally fucking agree, couldn’t have said it better. The trucks shouldn’t float away in space. Realistic physics my fucking ass. Big fucking disappointment. Monster trucks overdriven on roblox has better physics in air.
The new game needs stuff to smash through other than purple cardboard boxes. An RV or airplane parked on the track. Running over cars is like hitting bollards.
One thing i can't stand about all these monster jam games.. it's bad enough that you have to do these ridiculous circuit races in EVERY game.. and that's the worst part of EVERY monster jam game. But what makes it worse, is when you got 8 trucks on a single track, but you can't hit them or it messes YOU up.. but they can knock you all over the place.
They both fun arcade racing games but I go with Monster Jam Showdown. The base game has more events than MJST2. They both have their odd choose in handling. But MJ Showdown feels more real to me!
100% agreed the way the trucks maneuver into turns too feels a lot more real and there supposed too slide out like that because they are top heavy so it is way more realistic
need to remake a old Urban Ussault or Path Of Destruction with modern graphics and everyone will be happy, all they need to do is rerender it in Unreal Engine 5 and we would have the best monster truck game ever....
Steel Titans 2 is the better game. Showdown has more technically better graphics but the art direction is worse. The vehicles slide around everywhere and you magnetically attach to the back of another truck. The map world is poor, where as the open world of Steel Titans 2 was amazing. I much prefer the older game to this new one.

I prefer in my opinion ST2 because kinda feels like a average late ps2 game and i enjoyed unlocking the monster trucks rather than the god awful grind infestation to ST1
I honestly prefer Showdown but I do understand the complains that some may have, I really enjoy Showdown's physics but I also really liked Steel Titans 2's open world. I like both games but I like Showdown more because I always wanted a Monster Jam game that has realistic physics and Steel Titans 2 felt like a downgrade compared to the first one
I just don’t get why they don’t make a realistic game. The physics in both are absolutely abysmal and the scaling is so far off to the point where the trucks look like little toys. The fact that a mobile game (Monster Truck Destruction) has better physics, game play, and for platform intensive purposes better graphics for what you have is crazy.
that mobile game is based off of the ps2 games that made its name in the video game industry, games like urban assualt, and path of destruction.... aka what the mobile version is copying....
This game is great, all things considered good, but it feels like hitting a wall every time I drive over a junk car, which makes me want to give it a negative review.
Gameplay is not better than Steel Titans 2! The only areas that Showdown shines in are the graphics, circuit racing, and truck roster. Other than that it fails in everway possible
Steel titan's stadium track size are waaay tooo off, the jumps are like 4 timer bigger tan the truck, showdown jump sizes in stadiums are more realistic in that matter
Steel Titans 2 is 10 times better than Showdown. Freestyle in Showdown is so weird and it's sad cause Showdown clearly has the better roster of trucks to use and the liveries are awesome but the game play sucks so badly! The fake stadiums suck and even though this game specifically says stadiums and Raceway, you can't really distinguish between the two cause it all looks the exact same. If they would have just made Steel Titans 3 with these graphics, this lineup, and added new arena, stadium, AND Speedway tracks then it would've been the best monster truck game for consoles made. Who in the hell thought that announcers voice in Showdown was a good idea?!?!? They should be fired!!! Thanks for the shitty game Milestone
