Hi Alexandria! Clarifying the hair is not necessary but is a great first step and can help remove any build up that is presently on the hair before the color service. Every client will have different needs when it comes to color correcting.
Highly recommend trying Scott Cornwall hair color remover. It took me from years of box dye black to copper red in just 2 applications. And it’s non damaging. Really surprised how little color was removed with the color remover products in this video
I have my hair box dyed black and got grey roots, Id be mad if my hairdresser takes me back to where I was. I want my grey hair to blend in not to end up with black dye on my roots again!
I love this result🥰But I have a question! To obtain a lighter result after using black box dye, is it mandatory to use bleach? can't i just skip that step and just use toner?
Hello! Toners are only meant to deposit color-- they won't lift the black color at all. In order to properly lighten, you will need to use lightener and then tone afterwards.
Honestly, I feel the same way. All those steps basically gone to waste, only to loop back around to almost the same look. Only slight difference are little peek-a-boo strands and wisps of red and a hair trim to get some of the damaged ends off. Seemed like a waste of steps, time and money, to be frank. The client could've just plopped more dark hair color onto the red at roots to match the rest of the hair, really.🤨
Do you know you used the Malibu C cpr and Disruptor wrong? You are supposed to use the Disruptor 1st and process under heat for 25-30 minutes then use the CPR and process under heat next and also use the Clarifying shampoo first before this disruptor and then after this disruptor and then after the cpr three times.
As you can see from the before many she tried a lighter shade but by applying color over and over an inky black shade in the ends of the hair develops.
Impressive process and a fantastic video! However, it seems like a lot of effort just to achieve such a dark result. The number of steps taken feels excessive for the final outcome. While the technique is commendable, it raises questions about the necessity of all those steps for the desired goal. It's possible that the stylist had a conversation with the client that provided context we might not be aware of. From an outside perspective, the final result appears a bit too dark.
Beautiful! I appreciated seeing her hair in the daylight after each step
Yay! Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you! I am a student and did my first correction today. I was wondering if I should have clarified first. I wish I did!

From black to black
How much did you charge?
Thanks u ma'am for this episode 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Thank you very much for watching!
This is exactly like my hair right now
How much does this cost?
Pricing will vary for each salon. We recommend visiting your local Kenra salon for more information and a personalized consultation.
I'm so afraid of going to get my hair done I've about 3 black hair dyes in it 😮😊
😮 It will be a process, but not impossible to achieve your hair goals in time. 🙂
Mmmm. Too dark imo.
Agreed. Not much difference to be classed as a colour correction. Still looks harsh.
This will wash into a beautiful lighter shade cause she used demi permanent and the lighter pieces will shine through
Que tono le aplicó de medios a puntas?
¡Hola! Se aplicó Kenra Color Demi-permanent 5B en medios-puntas.
Wow looks fav.
Thanks for watching Bhawana!
Why is it always black box dye? Why don't shoppers just go for a nice ash brown or an auburn?
Wouldn't that be nice! LOL! Thanks for watching! ❤️
I think people want a dramatic change

Looks really dark
Lovely. Now don't put boxed dye on your hair again, lol.
