They say that the best songs will always work on acoustic, & it is definitely true in this case.
Your version is even more heartbreaking than the original. It's like Ren, herself, is singing, trying to come to terms with her loneliness, while, at the same time, thanking her father for rescuing her.
In my opinion, the lyrics get overshadowed in the original version with all the electronic sounds seizing your attention & distracting you away from what the song is actually about - a young girl on a journey to make a new life for herself whole hanging on to the memories & love that make her who she is.
