Fish - An update on the new album 'Weltschmerz'

- It’s been a long time coming but I hope the wait will be more than worth it. I’ve always said I don’t just release material for the sake of it, I want to release material when it’s ready and I am satisfied it’s the best I can deliver. It’s my last album and I want it to be the finest of my solo projects so far. It has the makings of a great album and I want to make sure it is just that.

If this is his finest hour ..then god only knows what we're gonna get...be hard to top all previous works ..I carnt wait for this album but don't want it to come cos it's the last...fish has been with me since I was in a kids home in 1985 and I traded a pair of tiny Walkman speakers for the cassette of misplaced childhood ...that I didn't want because Kayleigh had been on all the soft rock compilation albums around that time ..I was into hawkwind then not soft rock ...but I made the trade ..at lights out time I put the cassette in Walkman on side b just for a listen ( out of curiosity.mainly cos of title name ) well I was mesmerised immediately. That weekend I get home leave ,go straight to our price records or virgin at Liverpool central station and got the other three albums they had ..the rest has been part of the journey

it is sad as others have said but i'm sure you will go out with a bang on this one , love what iv'e heard so far , your music has been a massive part of my life for the past 33 years , and i thank you for that , your wise words helped me many times , good luck with everything you embark upon from here , so looking forward to this album :)
Fish been with you since 82 and had some amazing experiences at your gigs. Please look after yourself sounds like this final leg is going to be hard work. We appreciate you.
Really curious about the Weltschmerz Album - nice that your last one has a German title. The finest of your solo projects will be hard though, because the first one, Vigil, is such a brilliant work. And Sunsets is a masterpice, too. So lets wait and hear and decide... :)

Hi Fish, It's been a long and memorable road i have followed you down, from that first show at International Hotel, Grangemouth, in 1982 as a 14 yr old (yea, i sneaked into the licensed club 'cos i had to see you all play) I was absolutely hooked by you all from that night on.
I'm genuinely sad that I and all the fans won't have that excitement of new material and gigs after the dust settles with Weltschmerz. Sorry to sound selfish about you wanting to retire (you deserve everything you want from your life, you've worked for it!) I only hope is that you don't be a stranger, show face now and again ;-)
Maybe we'll pass by on the odd occasion while i'm around East Lothian...I'm the one with the silvery hair (now!)

Hi Gregor, hope you are well. I was at the gig in Grangemouth also. Glad to hear someone else was there too and mentioned it. Fish said hello to me that night and I have never forgotten the impression he made on me. To me, he still has that light in his eye and hope he continues to share it with us all. Great video Onkle Fish, and good to see you looking well. So sad that this will be your last Album, and as FunkyFishClone said below, it would be great if you could continue doing some live gigs for another few years & not disappear from the scene entirely. My only wish now is that you give those of us in the far South West of the UK a chance to see you live once again - another visit to Tavistock Wharf is long overdue!

MAGNUM nothing can surpass vigil because not only were vigils songs top notch, but so was fish’s voice. Starting as early as internal exile his voice started to slip and then it started becoming much more noticeable on suits and sunsets. When the voice slips and loses range and power, it’s hard to deliver the same passion he once had.

Looked on you're site Fish and cannot find Vigil for sale.When i go to Amazon it's about 30 quid or more.Are you doing a remastered version please? Would love to get my hands on the cd .I hate mp3 and i find the quality poor.
I wonder if he will tour in support and if so will he come to America 1 last time ?
