Maybe it's just me, but a globe is the very best example of an idol (per Exodus 20.4-5) that I can think of.
It carries a message that contradicts everything scripture says about creation and the Creator.
It is foundational for every earth science, cosmology, zoology and even lies to us about our understanding
as to how the modern digital communication world works. It is the very symbol of the modern world (ack! Puns!)

Any god you worship besides the God of the bible is an idol. If the god you worship is okay with a little bit of lying, a little bit of thieving, and a little bit of fornicating. You've propped up a false god. You've made an image of god that's okay with some sins, usually the ones you're committing. You'll hear this often "the god I worship wouldn't send people to hell." That's idol worship. That's not the God who's revealed himself through scripture.

So Adam and Eve were idolatrous. By substituting their will...for God's...
Really love how the definition of idolatry has expanded and conformed to these guys' personal biases, & dislikes.. Keep expanding the definition and everything is idolatry... good trick. )Word of caution,,Eve expanded God's command about eating the fruit)
You don't get to qualify idolatry or modify the definition of idolatry...with 'modern day ' in front of it.

Below are three verses that tell us that under the gospel of grace we are sinless through the death of Christ on the cross. So, why be water baptized for the "REMISSION" of sins. People, we are forgiven of our sins. They have not been "put in remission" like the gospel of the kingdom under Peter and the 11.
Romans 4:15 - "Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression."
Romans 5:10 - "For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."
Romans 5:13 - "For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law."

@@shaynebrady3646 I am a disciple of the apostle Paul, and I want for you to know that you can never obtain forgiveness of your sins, because Jesus Christ paid the price for your sins on Calvary.
Is this what you do not get? Your sins were forgiven before you were actually born. So, it is idiotic and stupid to believe that you can get forgiveness of your sins. Jumping into a baptistry will do you no good, because Christ forgave the sins of the world when He was on the cross. The Bible is very specific that Christ forgave the sins of the world.
“And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” (Eph. 4:32).
“In Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins” (Col. 1:14).
“And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses” (Col. 2:13).
“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye” (Col. 3:13).
Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. (Romans 4:15).
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. (Romans 5:10).
For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. (Romans 5:13).
Now, if you are asking if you should believe the gospel of I Corinthians 15:1-4 and thereby obtain salvation, then yes, I would ask for you to do so.
Forgiveness of sins is not conditional, but salvation is conditional.

3 For I handed down to you [b]as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

@@jamesstrohl2016 It is great to hear from you. I can understand you might be mistaken about salvation, since no denomination that I am aware of ever preaches on the two judgments.
So first I will explain the two judgments to you.
James, does your denomination preach that there are two "judgements?" James, does your denomination preach that one judgment is for the saved, and the other judgment is for the lost?
James, does your denomination preach that the saved (body of Christ) will stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ and will be judged (and receive rewards) according to their works?
II Corinthians 5:10: Judgment Seat of Christ - For the Saved in Christ
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
I Corinthians 3:10-15: Rewards For Our Good Works
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
      12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
James, does your denomination preach that the lost will stand before "The Great White Throne?"
Revelation 20:11-12: Great White Throne - The Dead Outside of Christ Will Be Judged
“And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”

@@RayRay-jf5hf First I do attend a denomination and I am not part of a denomination. Secondly there is only one judgement and that is whether or not you are saved. The only way to be saved is through baptism to start with and that includes having faith. Then continue in the faith.
What you are speaking of a second judgement is the reward for being faithful. If you wish to call it "the second judgement" then it is wrong. It is a reward.
The passage you quoted from Revelation is for those outside the Church. Those who believed their good works would get them into Heaven.

Yes, there are false idols out there. The CoC uses their baptistry as their idol. They have replaced the cross, where our sins were forgiven (see the gospel in I Corinthians 15:1-4), with their baptistry.
The Baptist Church uses their "alter" as their idol, which has replaced the cross.
The Catholic Church tells you to ask for forgiveness from their priests, replacing the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Oh, but you talk big talk about Cornelius, who asked Peter to come to him because God wanted the Jews to understand that He would save the Gentiles through their faith as well as the Jews through their faith.
So, the Jews did not ever preach to the Gentiles. Paul is the only apostle that preached to the Gentiles.

Those that believe the gospel will escape the Great White Throne Judgment because their transgressions have been paid for by Christ, as Paul mentions in Colossians 2:13-14 " And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;" Colossians 2:13-14.
