I'm considering getting this for my Iron 883. I thought I would like the mids but on a few occasions I thought I was going to get a leg cramp from the scrunched up position I was in. And I'm shorter than you at 5'2'! Thank you for sharing this video.
Man, I watched 2 or 3 other knuckleheads videos and turned them off before they finished. They were stumblin and fumblin and didn't know what in the fuck they were doing. Your video had all I needed to know in just a few minutes. Good on you. Thanks.
Thanks for your Video, was well worth looking at. I've had harley's in the past, EVO FXDWGs X 2 and a Full Dresser, both I had a bit of a problem with reaching like yourself, Me also are only 5' 7" and had problem sometimes not having the reach when I wanted. I'm also looking at a 2013 Fat Bob (Red with heaps of chrome). My neighbor just got himself a 2011 Fat Bob with the same problems as we do in lack of reach. Even not being able to be flat footed while stopping. Shorter shocks or the lowering kit helps a lot. He's getting his on order for the reduced reach kit so will be looking at that when he comes. Happy riding girl. Hope you're staying upright and clean. Cheers Teddy.
Glad you liked the video, I also have thought about lowering options. Can be a pain while backing up when you're pushing without good contact. I'll say I've ridden a lowrider and had no reach issues.
Ive found the best most comfortable footpegs on forward controls are Kuryaken pilot pegs with spurs. Like running boards without the restriction. When you rest the weight of your leg completely on the peg and spur you dont have to push down to keep your feet from.lifting.
Thank you for the vid. Have been looking for this. I've ordered a reduced reach kit to my fatbob now. This is the tutorial I go for, maybe if there is a manual that comes with the kit as well. I'm just 5,4 :O, but I love my bike but wanna ride it more comfortable. Im a rookie, but hope I'll fix this installation good lol
Considering trying this on my Fat Bob, I'm not short (6'2" 34" inseam) but at highway speeds I'm constantly fighting to keep my feet on the pegs. I would love to put mids on it but priced that out to $900 in parts ( cheaper w/used Ebay items). This could be a cheap and easy fix for the summer.
I love it! It has been the perfect fix for me. I personally wouldn't want floor boards, because I like minimal bulk on my bike and I think that's just something more to scrape while turning.

Thanks! Glad I could help.
This was the best description of the reduced reach install. I watched other videos, but this was perfectly explained. Thanks a lot.
Thank you, I'm 5 foot 7 on a 2009 fatbob. I completely understand how you felt riding. I will definitely be going out today and buying this kit.
5'7 and just got a FXDB. Love it but the forward controls are just a bit too far forward to feel fully comfortable. Thanks for this.
5'5" with a 29" inseam, on a 2017 Street bob, this is exactly the info I was looking for.
Nice explanetion . vest video out there . !!
Thank you . i need to get this too. !!
So helpful, I am 5 6 as well and I am getting a wide glide so I am getting this kit for sure, I wished you had recorded the install process. Cheers!
I know I wish I would have recorded the install.

"Feet, jam and shit!"
Ok, I see......Lol
Awesome!
What reduced reach kit did you use? Forget it I just saw it sorry
just saw this video and wondered if you still ride? never saw anymore videos on you riding it or anything.
Are you missing a bolt on your engine mount? by the master cylinder.
SonnyCider yes it is a bolt to the mount for my pipes that backed out lol. Dealer didn't lock tight it. Got a new one in now, thanks.
Good review 🤙🏽🤙🏽 is it just me or is it a pain to find neutral on this fat bob , I have same year damn near same bars except mine is black and red
Never had a problem finding neutral on mine. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
Question, on the shifter side only the bracket is need it?
Hello there, whats the part number? I typed reduced reach forward control kit and several parts come up.. thanks
did you ever find the part number? im looking for it too, for an fxdl 2004
Sorry this was so long ago, I don't remember the part number. Good luck. Hit up Harley maybe.
I have contemplated installing floorboards because my feet want to blow off on my forward controls. How pleased are you with this kit?

Oh and if you play bass thats cool. I do also...and youre right midpags suck.
Haha, don't play bass, but I do bass fishing.
Do you have any more videos of your bike?
I'm sorry I do not have anymore videos of my bike. I'm so busy traveling for work that I don't really make time to do videos.
Look on the tranny braket in a bolt missing . next to the rear caliper
Look at your video. !!
@Rippin Bass did you use your old pegs for both shift and brake? Thanks
Yep
I like your fingers
