Remember folks I am still out of town recruiting new engineers to work. I will be back tonight my time (US Central Time) and post some videos on the Hannibal at the Gates DLC. Enjoy!
Heir, I was just thinking. Pike box is a killer for Nomad factions - right? How about if you brought, for example 2 artillery units. He would have to attack you, he couldn't just pike box or you'd kill them from afar. Nomad cav is powerful so you could take on their cav with no problems. Than, destroy as much of the pike box as possible(they are very much bunched up so it would take a lot of losses). Than, use your horse archers to kill as many of the remaining pikes. Lastly, do all out charge. What you think
roxoloni and massgetae both need a slightly cheaper cataphract maybe around 1000 something. Of course their stats should reflect their cost. Plus give them infantry. The saka used them in some decent numbers so cmon ca. Maybe a dacian wars dlcs so we can get dacia and maybe the odryians plus some more units for roxolani cmon ca take my money.
***** I agree cause if ca does it right dacia didnt have cav not in any big number their ally the roxolani was basically their cav support. Dacia was winning with the roxolani then they stayed out of the war and dacia lost so it sucks but they needed each other cause roxolani fell in pannonia or hungary.
WTFisDrifting Yeah, from a Roman military perspective the Dacian wars gives us a clear picture of how the Roman war machine operated. In Rome 2, there are numerous factions that the Romans fought using principes, hestati, and triarii, but very few factions that the Romans fought using imperial legionaries (lorica segmentata armour). Basically, only the Suebi, Parthians and Iceni ever saw Romans fighting in segmented armour, and only the Dacians fought against armoured imperial legionaries, as the armguard was created specifically to guard against the Dacian falx. The Dacians were formidable enemies of Rome, who were a bigger challenge to the Romans than other factions in the game. For these reasons they must be playable, and anyone who appreciates history agrees.
yes the falx is a nice weapon but too bad the sarmatians gave up on the war to protect dacia form rome. Maybe dacia could have lasted longer against rome
Couldn't you use Massagetae's field artillery against Pike Factions in Box formation? Potentially luring them out for them to destroy your art or will you run out of ammo to quickly for it to be an effective tactic to wear them down in noob box?
more than not but it doesnt have a ton of ammo so you wont destroy the box but you will make holes enough to charge through and get their slingers or sometimes to draw them from the box hell i have brought two and its alot of money but it really forces your enemy to do something
Massagetae means Great Jats. Massa is maha ( in central Asia, hindi 'h' is pronounced as 's') . Maha means great. Getae is pronounced as Gyaat or Jat. Massagetae are modern Jats in India. Jats are only found in North India, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. There is also Juttland in Denmark in Europe. That proves great Jats or massagetae moved to Europe and South Asia. Jats have different DNA haplogroups from all other communities of South Asia. They are the most close to central Asian compared to other communities.
Can't you just charge units in Testudo? I don't think you will get the bracing bonus when you are in it. So you should be able to destroy them with a good stampede charge, or am I wrong?
I used Messagetae vs Pontus pikes. I had a forested hill advantage. Army compositions were 4 Saka Cataphracts, 2 horse archers vs 7 Pontic Elite pikes. I kept luring them around the hillside then crashing into individual units when they were chasing my units. Eventually I won.
I don't get why you would use Horse only factions... You could just spam spears and slingers and in the right hands you could easily dominate horse only factions.
the infantry can be easily flanked and the slingers can be surrounded and decimated, there are tactics that can counter boxing, heir did not mention nor does he know of them

You're a logistical engineer AND a recruiter?
lusitani i hope
I am surprised there is no "what are you doing steppe-bro?" comment

Dacia is a MUST playable faction!! WE WANT DACIANS NEXT!!

Given nomads horse slingers
Massagetae is the best. I conquered Parthia, Baktria and the Selucids on hard campaign
agreed definitely enjoying their campaign right now.
nice video, I relly like these. Ive never been in too Massagetae but now I really need to try em out. Thx :D

i have done this so many times
Did it work?

So these are our ancestors
Syracuse! I love them :D
have to wonder how these guys would do in a siege and dismounted. or just in campaign with such heavy losses.
In campaign they have foot troops

They shouldn't get a brace in Testudo, that's how the Romans were defeated in the battle of Carrhae.
Has a strong cavalry
UA-cam! What the crap is going on :)
What mod are you using to play with them? Ive tried everything and cant even play with Royal Scythia. Ive even tried the vanilla game
Cynane Its dlc

Is it still kind of accurate
Probably I mean it's been 7 years lol
And BTW. wondered a long time, are you swedish?
He's american
AbsorBentJeppe 'murican
Did you skip Egypt on purpose?
Badass!
first jay
Haha this faction would annoy me so much. I cannot stand the all cavalry factions :P
They all have crappy infantry and foot archers in campaign... Not sure why they left that out of multiplayer
I dont understand why so many people feel the same as you. Personally I love steppe warfare

+Zac Hepner no he said no counter to pike boxes not spear formations
