I saw them live in 84...absolutely amazing and Peter Garrett's dancing is just...wow, mesmerizing, such passion and energy! Actually that's another good song of theirs, 'the power and the passion'. Great reaction!

The drummer hits the skins the hardest I have ever seen.

Mate, I had the privilege of seeing the Oils live on 9 occasions. Without question, they are the most ferocious, intense, blazing, tight and simply phenomenal live band I've ever seen, and I've seen an awful lot. You could power cities with with the energy radiating from an Oils crowd alone.

As a 14 y.o. teenager, this was my first live concert ever. Best concert I have ever been to in my life to date. Also Rob Hirst, top 5 best ever drummer in the world (live or dead).

If you haven't seen it check out Dont Want to Be the One from Wanda in 82 it's raining - the stage is covered with wires and water and you kind of wonder if someone is going to get electrocuted and they are a lot more Punk than they were here a few years later.

Oils live …I’ve seen them about 6 times since the early 80’s to 2021… life changing band.

Great reaction mate 👍 It's great to see you getting to the more obscure stuff. Love this older Oils. Rob Hirst on drums just killing it. Have you tried King of the Mountain which they filmed in the streets outside the Exxon building in New York? Well worth a look 👀 Thanks

From memory you had to win your tickets from watching Rock Arena. Read about it insane from this gig.

This concert is legendary in Aust rock music. You were right, utterly ferocious and they keep it up the entire concert.

Bro.. when you said "These f**in guys".
They were kinda like new wave surf punk Australian style. Had a huge impact on me as a kid in the early 80's.
Unique to a time and place that doesn't exist anymore.
    Great reaction 👍

Another great & typical example of how tight a band they were live,
    let alone the glorious backdrop.
And there's plenty to support that.
    Wanda Beach.
    Goat Island.
One of my live favourites is when they did Truganni
    on Jools Holland, UK.
    Tight as a drum.
    The bass KILLED me.

You should check a more recent version of this, just to see how little their fire dimmed over the ensuing years.

jim moginie - lead guitar and keyboards is a very talented musician/songwriter, one of my favourite solos is on Nothing Lost and Nothing Gained, you won't find much other than the studio recording of it which is what I'd suggest listening to (there is a live version though)
