I was not feeling well at all today, then I watched this wonderful video, and everything was fine, and I wept for happy. I am 83, and as a result I do plan now to enjoy Easter dinner with my family and will feel great today because I love Warbirds especially the beautiful P -51 Mustang. Many thanks for your splendid closeup look at this lovely machine and to the guys who love just being able to touch it let alone care for it.
Stunning! This has to be one of the finest videos I have seen on the Mustang. Thank you very much for taking the time to gift us this audiovisual banquet.
Eccellente lavoro! Questo video è unico nel suo genere! Insieme all'altro video è davvero un lavoro straordinario e molto curato. Grande❣️ Complimenti! 👍👍👍👏👏👏
I think you may have reached a pinnacle of success in videography with this series on "Frances Dell". Your attention to detail and astute photography is superb. I've never seen anything better; even your 190 and 109 work. The airplane does not speak for itself, so your detailed commentary with the amount of time required to produce, is extremely appreciated. Interestingly many questions viewers have asked on other videos are answered here. I don't know when you'll hit the 100K sub mark but it's only 2600 away so I'm going to congratulate you now in case I miss the event.
Very nice videographic tour on the inside and outside of this wonderful warbird. The P-51 will always be my favorite fighter plane of WWII. And this one is truly in an impeccable condition. Good to have it flying in Europe.
Great presentation! She’s a stunner, and I learned quite a bit about the various flight ops elements. Especially fascinating about the “whistle.” Always wondered about that. Bravo!
My very first posting in 1959 was to an ex-Spitfire squadron...a close relation, I believe, to the P51 Mustang. Alas, I had missed working on the Spitty, as we were one of the first squadrons that had just converted to Vampires. However, spent many happy hours in the cockpits of 2 written off remaining Spitfires kept in the pens. This was wonderful comprehensive video coverage that brought back so much nostalgia and so many happy memories!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the great video I really love your video production, job well done. It's good to see a Mustang with out D-day stripes as they were most often painted over in WW2. 👍🇭🇲
Great video!! btw, Tehachapi, is pronounced like "tuh·ha·chuh·pee". I used to live near there and frequented Tehachapi when I was in high school living at Edwards AFB. Regarding the gunports whistle. Think of it like playing a flute, or playing a glass bottle. When playing a flute, your mouth and lips have to be in a very specific position (embouchure), around the hole in the lip plate and you blow into that tone or fluttering hole. You don't actually blow perpendicular down into the hole, but you must blow at a very specific angle or slight different angles. In the same way, the P-51 flying through the air straight, with the wind just pushing straight into the gun port would be like blowing straight down into the flute's tone hole. That wouldn't produce any whistle sound. However with the P-51 at certain angles in dives or climbs, the air flowing against the "tone hole or fluttering hole" provided by that gun port in that particular area, would actually be like a musician blowing properly into the flute, or you playing a glass bottle (which is probably more like what we got going on with the gunports on the P-51). So you can say that the Mustang can actually play the whistle tunes of death pretty well when it wants to attack!
Tolles Video einer schönen Mustang! An der BBD hat man sich sattgesehen, die "Frances Dell" ist mal was anderes. Wird nur noch getopt von der "Contrary Mary".
Very nice to watch, flying with good energy management. Although I do love the sound of the R-R Merlin in this P51, I prefer the sound of its younger bigger sibling, the Griffon. Both engines are beautiful pieces of British engineering.
Nothing that can't be put back. it's nice to have modern radios in the panel. After all the gunsight and tank has gone and there's another seat in there. i'd have wanted a more colourful modern attitude indicator.
One can tell that a lot of work went into this - thank you for your dedication!

Eine wunderbare Maschine.
Vielen Dank. Wäre ohne Eigner & Piloten nicht möglich gewesen!

A simply stunning documentary. Love it.
Beautiful documentary. I'm so glad the stories of these amazing aircraft are being saved in digital format so many generations to enjoy.
Colorado misses her... glad she is being well taken care of at her new home.
Great video of a beautiful Mustang; we are so fortunate that a few owners keep these old birds flying and I appreciate their efforts
I followed your link after watching one of your other videos that’s for sharing above all else thank you for keeping the old bird flying
What a beauty! Thanks to you and the crew for sharing.
Great video! Great to see the history of this aircraft and how much work goes into maintaining and flying it. Thanks!
Excellent video. Thanks for covering the Mustang in such great detail.

Thanks, yes was quite a bit of work to make this video. Special thanks to the owner for giving me access.
Awesome video as always.
Great documentary on Frances Dell. It has to be a labor of love keeping all that aluminum polished and clean.
Amazingly in-depth, awesome work mate!
Excellent presentation Paddy!
I appreciated all the details provided - newfound appreciation for the complexity of these airplanes

WOW, best video about Mustang I ever seen ...
Thank you! Lot of work went into this.
Großartig und professionell gemacht. Wirklich klasse 👍
That is one exceptional P-51, wow, impressive work, detail goes into caring for this aircraft
Very detailed information and great video work. You have just won a new subscriber. 😊✈ I flew twice with Lucky Lady P-51 from Bremgarten. Cheers Matt

Indeed
Thank you for your dedication to this beautiful aircraft and to such an important part of history. Well done sir!
Just seeing this sends chills down my spine and thinking about this in war time. Love the sound and the fighting power.
Great work Paddy! Thank you!

I think I'm allergic to the P 51. Every time it flies over my head at an airshow, I get goosebumps.
Very nice to watch, flying with good energy management. Although I do love the sound of the R-R Merlin in this P51, I prefer the sound of its younger bigger sibling, the Griffon. Both engines are beautiful pieces of British engineering.
I am sure you use the Garmin GPS GNS 530. during your aerobatic flying. Help you find the field after being upside down so much. Nice bird.
Amazing aircraft that played a huge role in military Aviation
P-51!.. Cadillac of the sky!
Without the whistle from the inner gun recesses, it just sounds like a Spitfire.
Could you do one on the P-47?!? I'd love that!!
Maybe, if I get access to one.
@@PaddyPatrone thanks!
Can't believe they could develop these with only paper and no computers. What brilliant minds people had! Btw, what is a quarter kill?
Quater kill= 4 pilots share one kill
@@PaddyPatrone thx, that was quick reply
Mega geil
There's also another P-51 in Germany under name Louisiana kid!!
Outstanding video - can we get the same on the FW190?
I hope so!
The Merlin engine is the best sound in the world!
Imagine the stories this plane could tell it she was able to talk.
Perfeito
Paddy did you try to measure how lound in dB C SPL is in P-51 cockpit? Did anybody made real measurements of SPL in dB C here gents?
No measurments, sorry
Das hat schon Doku Charakter von N24. Nur besser. Wirklich gut gemacht 👍.
Respekt
The Mighty RR Merlin maketh the plane.
Just imagine what I was like to be a pilot strapped into one of these while chasing down an enemy aircraft.
Best fighter plane in the world beautiful they are

I do not like the modifications of this iconic Mustang. It should now be called a "retro" P-51 Mustang. You have ruined a piece of history!
Totally ruined the instrument panel
