I went to the park and hugged a tree yesterday. It was so wonderful. I talked to the tree and asked questions. She answered me. It was a tree that leaned at an angel. I was able to stand, lean and lay down at the same time. I still feel grounded today. I held that tree and told her about my feelings until I cried. It was such a good experience. I call her Mama Tree. I played head down on the tree. I will make it a weekly ritual. I can't walk on grass, but I can stand in this tree and connect to the earth energy. I am working on my relationship with this type of tree, because I suddenly developed allergies to it to the point of having to get shots every week. I love this kind tree.
I am so thankful for thays teachings in these times of so much uncertaiainty an unrest I find solace in remembering how to breathe. thank you all the plum village monks an sisters It is a fun spiritual ave for my life that has really been missing for a long time!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you Br. Phap Dung your sharing is like a medicine for me. I appreciate with my heart your clear way to explain deep teachings. Evangelina Cortes.
Your talk is so timely in these days of covid, fear and uncertainty. You have used simple references to remind us of the teachings of the dharma. and Thay’s way of of reminding us to come back to ourselves, to cultivate love, and to not harbor ill wills. My spirit is moved, and tears of joy flow. Today i feel alive and grateful that i do have a spiritual bank account that i can enrich on.🙏❤️🙏
Dear Br, when I breathe and remember I am alive, I can be grateful but soon what I become aware of is dukkha. The dukkha of having a body for example... When I remember that I have eyes I become aware of dukkha in seeing forms; when I become aware of sounds I become aware of dukkha in hearing sounds... Of course to have a healthy body is nice, some forms or sounds can be pleasant, but they are very impermanent... so not reliable. Because of that they turn into dukkha. It is the same with good, wholesome ideas (about nature, the group, etc). So it is very hard for me to say that life is a miracle. How to go about that? Only when I withdraw and find peace in samadhi (not based on sens activity) do I feel some reliable joy. Then life seems ok! But to touch this samadhi isn't easy, and it's true it's quite cut off from others...
tom wool Escap for your self will not take you any where...you are part of this system your clothes and food arranged by others...you sound to lack discipline to me Br. More you remember you r alive...more happiness you will be feel and share..samadhi is not withdrawing or escaping...you r confused by words...THIS is about experience... unconsciousness is not samadhi
Brother..how about forgetting is also an opportunity given to us to train towards accepting our inate humanness. May be standards are still too high ..striving to perfecting spritual life is a big issue in spritual paths...In monastic life many still carry their different history ..all takes time... life is just this...😅
Oh I see the professional coughing/sneezing girl is present AS ALWAYs. Every single video has that same woman in it coughing and sneezing through the whole talk. It's actually uncanny.
Simon Finch I think what you mean is that you find it easier to listen to the other nuns and monks. Remember that Thay is their master, he is the source of all their inspiration and teachings. To understand that deeply you have to have patience and to look deeper than just being entertained. His wisdom is beyond all of theirs and they would openly admit that. But I understand what you mean in the way in which messages are articulated as many of the others have a more humorous or anecdotal style. But don’t overlook he brilliance of Thay please 🙏🏾
You know, I really love your comment, because it shows that brothers and sisters are doing good job of being Thay's continuation. I am sure that Thay is happy as well to see this. Great teachers and great students.
Simon Finch ( western)mind is conditioned 2 always compare , compete , analyse , proving, disproving , etc ...... Go beyond this mental state and give yourself the PEACE to experience , that Thay Thich Nath Hanh is ONE with brother Pháp Dung & the Sangha

What a fidgety audience
The other monks and nuns provide more meaningful and practical talks than Thay.
