He is very very good, but Matthew Morrison is probably the best male singer. I think at least half the cast can sing better than most of the singers making top 40 records.

@@SongsFromASuitcase it's the hair. AVPM Harry had this big fluffy curlfest, while Blaine's hair (after this season) was plastered down. Darren cut his hair for this audition.

Darren’s character Blaine was only supposed to be in a few episodes as well - he was just going to be an ‘older mentor’ to Kurt but it’s Darren and he’s amazing so he became a regular pretty quickly!
You should check out “The Climb” from High School Musical The Musical The Series - it’s a really cute cover of the Miley Cyrus song sung by the character Seb and he’s amazing!
It's funny to think how he tried on for Finn and didn't get it and then his small role became huge!

Darren is the only glee cast member who sang live two songs, Against all odds and teenage dream (acoustic version) both of them awesome you should check them out!
I know you’re working you’re way through the series, but I highly recommend watching Blaine’s “It’s Not Right (But it’s okay), “Against All Odds”, “Not Unusual” and “Cough Syrup”. Those are my favorite performances by him.

Darren Criss was also so good playing as Teen Angel in season 4 the music of Santana and delivered the entire album #RIPOlivaNewtonJohn ! Love it
Sorry if anyone else commented this (comments tl;dr) but the harmonies and backing vocals of this and other Warbler numbers from s2 are courtesy of the Tufts University acapella group the Beelzebubs. Darren would fly to NY to record with them, then back to LA to shoot the show. The actors who played the Warblers (all session singers) actually sang them during the Glee Live tour though.
So much talent in that acapella group!!!!

I knew Darren from Starkid before Glee and me learning he was in it was actually a big part of me deciding to watch it, and I smile every time he's on screen but omg this first performance is just so fun and made me love him even more
Zoey's extraordinary playlist is another show that I've been seeing pop up with the characters singing
They end together. They are Klaine and the most popular couple on the show. ❤💕

My position on this cover is that it’s better than the original. It was the best selling Glee cover in six seasons of the show.

If you want to see Kurt and Blaine sing a duet season 5 I think they actually sing better together. They sang American Boy and Love is a Battlefield. My theory is that Chris Colfer was a late bloomer (which is fine)... his voice just seemed like it matured. But I know nothing about singing.
Matt Morrison (the teacher) sings more in season 5 too, I heard he got it in his contract to sing more lol 😆 good for him
Would love for you to check out A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel from Team Starkid starring none other than Darren Criss as the man of the hour, Harry Potter himself. He wrote most of the music and there are some FANTASTIC songs in there. Especially in a Very Potter Sequel there are some hauntingly beautiful songs. Try listening to "Home" from A Very Potter Sequel or "Those Voices"

'I miss katy Perry', me too! I think this song choice was perfect for the characters and storyline. Thanks for pointing out stuff like the haze in his throat, i'm not a singer so all those things go over my head when they make it look so effortless. Would love to see you react to some of Tyler Joseph's vocals from the band twenty one pilots, he has a very unique voice and would love to hear your thoughts, any of his bBC live lounge performances are great

the only thing i know about this scene, it is the last song of one of the extra warblers before they become the gold ranger in power rangers super samurai. which is why that man who was at blaine's left has so much more screen time with him and even belted with him. the man is called warbler #2, the actor's name is Steven Skyler.

Klaine was my favorite Glee couple. It would have broken my heart if they had not tied the knot. Best TV series proposal, as well. I like this cover about a zillion times more than Katy Perry's original. Singer, dancer, actor, song writer, and Emmy winner-Darren is terrific.
Blaine sang this song again accapella on season 5, it's a must! The context is very sad, but its so beautiful as well ohhhh and they also sang it on the Glee Live show! Its the Glee 3d concert! (Ps: yes, they do end up together, with a lot of ups and downs and drama, but they do get back together!)
