In deze speech toont VUB-student Lieselot Staes de kracht van kunst. Of het nu dans is, fotografie, schrijven of schilderen: je vertelt een verhaal. En laat dat nu net de universele taal zijn. Kunst is verhalen vertellen. Kunst is politiek. Kunst is discussie. Kunst is inspiratie. Het is een bewaking van de vrije meningsuiting.
Al voor de zevende keer zullen Brusselse studenten hun redenaarstalent demonstreren tijdens de Students’ Speakers Corner. Die vindt naar jaarlijkse traditie plaats op de Internationale Dag van de Persvrijheid, op 3 mei in Bozar. Onze studenten geven in een gebalde en uitdagende speech hun kijk op een maatschappelijke of politieke kwestie en zetten daarmee het publiek aan het denken.

For the seventh time, Brussels students will showcase their oratory skills during the Students' Speakers Corner. This event, held annually on the International Day of Press Freedom on May 3rd at Bozar, is a tradition. Our students deliver concise and provocative speeches, offering their perspectives on societal or political issues, stimulating critical thinking among the audience.
