This is his real voice but he hates his voice because he feels like his real voice won’t get into mainstream that’s why he’s been doing this since cherry bomb so that’s why he put autotune onto his voice but in my opinion normal pitched and original sound good to me but it’s him in it that just wants a little bit of that you know that melody so yeah.....

He really just thinks he has a bad singing voice, in his early era when he tried to be edgier he used to deepen the pitch of his voice, from cherry bomb and onwards he tried to make it more appealing via autotune.
I just find it funny that even to this day, as shown in interviews and his most recent releases such as wharf talk, he still uses autotune and holds the belief that he can't sing and only rap.
