Such an underrated actor, the role in Scrubs he played was so well writen and then performed to perfection with is not easy in such a series, because it requires being deep, funny and straight at the same time.

John is one of my favorite actors. He was horrifying in Intensity and then hilarious in Scrubs. Shame he wasn’t on the Fox version of B99 because this character is just abrasive
Pretty good antagonist. For a satirical cop show to actually acknowledge the extensive problems with the legal system is respectable given the whole show was about portraying cops as lovable goofballs.
Why does it feel like his only blackmailing material is someone's sexuality? That is one of the thing people could tell you when asked, where did the real blackmail go?
For many years this actually was a legitimately a major way to blackmail someone. It’s been less then 50 years that in most places being LGBTQ was a criminal offense not to mention the social stigma around it, which depending on where you are and your community, still exists to some degree (for example, living in a conservative area or being a part of a community, religious or ethnic, where being openly LGBTQ would be heavily frowned upon if not outright dangerous)
