The comparison between oneplus 13 and S25U is already a win for oneplus!
True
I used to buy chinese phones because of the price. I was supporting the PLA by buying Chinese products
@jk5638
Not everyone cares about America-china economic war..
As you know there are people are not Americans in the world 😂
@@Restless-se1xo its about how chinese economy making PLA so agressive affecting its neighbors sovereignty. Im not american. The CCP is becoming very agressive in bullying their neighbors because of their economy.
Yeah…given the market & the product support.
upgraded to Oneplus 13 from S23 Ultra and absolutely love it ! so glad I didn't wait for the S25 Ultra ! the screen , animation ,battery and haptics are just too good
oh god the haptics is divine compared to s23 ultra.the only thing tho is it pales in comparison to my vivo x200 pro when it comes to camera capabilities. but i love both of my phones. op13 outlasts my vivo when it comes to battery tho which surprises me because all the videos i see online says otherwise
Same here. Compared the results of OP13 with my brother's S23 Ultra, and in most of the cases the OP13 was better.
I wanna switch so bad but im so used to goodlock and other samsung specific apps and features :/
@@earllangcay6637 how is the software for your vivo x200 pro? thats the only thing stopping me from getting it. Is it similar to oneplus?
@@Ara198826 I think S23 ultra is a great device, Oneplus 13 is still missing on many stuffs.
You would ask which but just use it and see yourself!
I've been an iPhone and Android user since day one. The OP13 is my first phone from One Plus and I'm surprised how good it is. Performance is a 10. Super snappy and not one hiccup or micro stutter yet. Apps open so quick, it feels like it's cached. Has the best under display finger sensor I've tried on any phone, not one miss since initial setup. Battery life is a 10, and I'm surprised at the stand by battery life as well. Has pretty much all the features I want in an Android phone, without slapping me in the face with too many features, and latest specs from all angles. Camera quality is up there with the other major flagship devices. VERY IMPRESSED!!!
Recently saw a OP13 vs OP13R vs 16 Pro Max and the iphone did the worst along with the OP13 in a blind camera test. People try to nitpick the OP13s camera as much as possible because they have nothing else to nitpick. I'm not saying it's the best but the picture quality is 100% flagship territory. On the other hand I think video is still meh. Apple is just noticeably better than every android phone (I think) and can shoot in log which is nice.
S25 series shoots in log too.
Having tried both, it is hard to tear away from Samsung as OneUI 7 is really good. I love the new form factor as well. Oneplus has actual upgrades this year though.
Who likes oneUI? Its the worst
@@Zsweeze Chill bro Oneplus ain't gonna let u gawk gawk
@@Zsweeze Literally millions of people. I have used almost every popular android phone brand and can definitely say that OneUI is best android OS when it comes to features and customization. 2 years ago when I had One plus it did not even support equalizer for bluetooth earbuds.
@smeiss98d customization you say? The one with GoodLock which is not avaliable world wide? Or what customization? Oxygen OS has better customization native. To me OneUI is inferior to Oxygen OS.
@@bogdan7800 You can still use region locked apps because it's Android. And people who can not download apk do not even care about that stuff. But yeah. I was on One plus couple years. It became shit after color os integration. And you definitely have more options in one ui. It is not even debatable. You can like the phone but thats it. There are facts and then there are opinions. You can debate opinions, but you cannot turn down the facts. One ui is packed with features even from stock. Last time I used one plus 9 I did not even have a simple equaliser because it works only with wired headphones. Maybe they changed it now. And even more - with stable one ui 7 rollout goodlock will be available worldwide so you dont need to use apkmirror
The biggest con with Samsung is no charger with the phone in the box, another$50 for it. While oneplus provides the charger with the phone that too a 100w fast charger.
The global version is 80 watts in the box and not having a charger in the box isn't a big deal. I have way too many chargers at home anyway.
@@zmcdaniel24can you use an old samsung charger from a note 9 or would you need to buy another adapter?
@@zmcdaniel24 do you have 100 wt charger?
@@zmcdaniel24 The India version gets charger - no issue.
I'm in Europe and no charger in op13 here and difference of 100 euros in trades of s25u there's no brainer, and yes I was an op fan boy but after trying for one year s24u one ui and features... man... yea I don't agree with some decisions of Sammy but still it's an overall premium phone... and I can be honest op13 the camera modules are so unestetits and the phone feels not so premium...
I have the oneplus 13 and have to say its brilliant. One area nobody speaks about is it ability to get usable signal when other phones dont work. Iv tried it underground same network where my pixel 7 would lose it. Cameras upto now are great, battery life day to day is brilliant no more battery anxiety or having to charge up after half a day. AI really isnt in ya face which i like.
I never had battery anxiety xD this is just 1 hour more battery lol
My only gripe with the OnePlus is, why can't they just make the display on their flagship phone FLAT?
I use my phone a lot for entertainment like UA-cam, Reddit, Netflix, Disney+, Instagram, etc. And I just can't unsee the random odd light reflections on the corners of the display. 😢
@@-_YouMayFind_-that still makes it better, “lol”
Definitely not worth it the one plus 13 is better in performance and has more ppi density and the same resolution and better battery life and fatser charging speed
PPI density between the two is irrelevant. Its already high enough on both phones that you wouldn't be able to see the difference on a screen this small. But yes better battery life and faster charging on OnePlus 13
@MatthewMoniz yea the difference between those two isn't noticible and also the one plus also has faster wireless charging than both iphone and Samsung too and better heat control and performance stability
good luck destroying battery with faster charging speed
@@Allalos-s2l and where did you get that the throttling test data from? Can you actually provide some evidence, looks like you are a one plus shill
kekw go buy your Oneplus, ill wait for your complaint in the upcoming 1 year. shitty OS anyway
@3:07 Yea brother I can just see in your expression and your fist gesture that you rocked that infrared watch in the 80's and drove that teacher insane. Great times, never forget.
Maybe i have weird eyes, didn't the zoomed in pics in the OP13 look better?
Exactly
yeah, better camera
I watch a lot of phone reviews on UA-cam. Probably more than many. You are pretty thorough and I tend to agree with a lot of your takes. Subscribed
Thanks for the sub, glad you like the review!
One of the best comparison i saw on youtube about these phones
Thank you! Feel free to share it as it helps. ♥️
Agree. It appears that Matthew actually has done his homework 😊
I need to research this way more but the camera genuinely looked better on the Oneplus than Samsung. Not to mention the zoom was a straight-up whitewash.
When the OnePlus first came out the camera was very inconsistent but after the latest updates its finally solid. I still prefer video on S25 Ultra on both the front and rear cameras but pictures are pretty even across the board.
I have both youbare absolutely wrong, one plus photos only looks good on one plus, if tou transfer it to s25 ultra or TV, you will see the difference. It's the just the one plus screen that has some colors
@@cyberbudWhat do you think everyone else is watching from? The video is edited before uploading on UA-cam and most of us are watching from other phones. What's your point?
@@MatthewMoniz but it's safe to assume Samsung will also be improving their cameras with software. The s24u improved significantly over last year. Although how much improvement do you think will be made, considering next to zero hardware change (new ISP and UW sensor apart), while the OP having an essentially more cutting edge hardware?
@@cyberbud what sort of blanks are you shooting? What we see here in this video is literally independent of any sort of TV viewing or whatever. So if it looks good on my phone, it'll look even better on the OnePlus itself, you mean?
In my perspective, Zoom-in pictures looks better in OnePlus 🤯
Hands down
No, just oversharpened and contrasty. You can't really see that until you zoom in to the photos. At the moment, Xiaomi are the only company not doing that kind of postprocessing
😂😂
Indeed.
Agreed. Samsung's 3x lens is pure trash and their 5x is still not a flagship grade sensor. Meanwhile OP uses great sensors on all 3 cameras
Coming from S24 Ultra I’ve moved to OnePlus 13 and love it. No regrets at all.
Same here! No regrets!
Why did you bother upgrading so soon after getting the Samsung? What a waste of money
@@Varocka can't speak for the other guy but I paid exactly $0 for the upgrade. Just swapped phones with someone who wanted to S24U.
going back to a standard screen didn't bother you after a year on a S24U
@@Varocka with trade in and discounts it cost me nothing to change. What money are you talking about me wasting?
6:15 , well op12 got stable A15 update in November while s24 ultra got it in january😅
S24 ultra didn't get the update it'll be out in a week or two
Aggressive trade deal, 3 generation old 512Gb s22 ultra to 1TB s25 ultra jet black cost less than the one plus phone and a galaxy 7 watch for $80.
Same payed 1000 for s25 ultra + watch 7 by trading in pixel 7. Not bad at all
Using the OP 13 currently, OnePlus is the clear winner this year. Waited for the S25 Ultra to come out and was sorely disappointed. Ordered the OP without hesitation. China is in their winner arc right now, like them or hate them.
Traded in my 9 Pro Fold and my wifes S24 Ultra in towards 2 OnePlus 13's. Love the camera, battery, charging speed, and smooth experience. My wife is always keeping the same type of phone (with Apple for 10+ years, Samsung for 5 years now) and she's wanting to switch. These phones are really great
That camera bump is the only reason which holding lot of people back from buying.
OnePlus be edging the Samsung with a level 10 gyatt 🔥

Great objective analysis. Honestly with respect to camera I think it ultimately comes down to the placebo effect. I see zero real difference but if you tell me I own the Ultra camera system in real life I start to feel it in the photos.
Paid 800 for my oneplus 13, with 16/512 free case, with a charger in the box... Was a pretty easy decision choosing tbh.
Finally an honest review where you mention it doesn't matter what it looks like as most people put it in a case! Seriously the amount of people who mention finger print smudging is ridiculous! Do people really choose a phone because it shows your grubby prints (without a case)!
Majority of people do not care but there are some people who are super neurotic and want to know that kind of stuff so I mention it for them.
You're the best 👌 man, I like your honesty
I enjoyed this review much more than all the other ones I've seen.
thanks for watching!
@MatthewMoniz No, thank you! Your vid helped me decide. In the end I won't be canceling my preorder on the ultra s25. I'm coming from a note 9.
@@renda4806 Would be a MASSIVE upgrade for you. Exciting !
Great video. I had a couple of early Galaxy phones S3 and S4, IIRC. I had a string of other phones (Nexus and Moto) before moving to the OnePlus ecosystem. Had the 7 and now a 9 and my 9 is getting long in the tooth and the battery is shot. With both the S25 and OnePlus 13 to choose from I debated going back to Samsung. Leaning towards the OnePlus because I am so used to the OxygenOS now.
Sound was same in my opinion but hard to judge from video.
Price wise Samsung is almost double the price so yeah i get the Oneplus 13 this time. Samsung didnt really add anything worth the price. OnePLus has much better parts specially bigger battery, screen, charging speed and i love their gesture that no other brands have like drawing < or > for music player. Plus i can use the screen with glove. Man Samsung need to learn from Oneplus.
what theme/icon packa re you using on the samsung?
Thanks for talking about PWM , i am affected by it and i just can't tolerate samsung Oled phones due to aggressive modulation depth, oneplus is way better for my eyes. Hopefully more content creators start talking about this so that the companies can fix this issue.
I upgraded from a OnePlus 11 to a OnePlus 13. I got like $350 in trade in from my original phone and a free set of their headphones. To me it's a no brainer. It's like half the cost of the Galaxy. If you're getting it from a carrier then whatever, but if you're like me and you get your phones unlocked then it's not even a competition.
I love the OP 13. I have tried both but prefer the OP 13 because of battery life, speed, haptics, call quality and price.
The OnePlus 13 is more killer than 25 ultra, buttt if u want a a name brand only u have to pay 500$ more, not really worth it!!
I see you more than i see devices in your video. Lets see you less and see devices more. Seeing you at the begining and hearing only your voice for the rest of the video is cool
for the further zoom shots, the OnePlus definitely nailed it
Currently rocking iPhone 13 Pro and my plan was if I ever get another android(my last being Oneplus 3) it would be a folding phone. And I got excited when I saw the Oneplus Open last year. I hope the Oneplus Open 2 will be worth the wait. ❤
why no comparing to s25 or s25+ ?
I have the S25 Ultra on order and will be using it as my work phone, but I have to say the OP13 ticks a lot of boxes. I think it offers so much for the price difference. Most people would be totally happy with the OnePlus. Use the extra change for one of their nice watches.
Great video sir.
Then you could just use the s25 plus which is the same as the Oneplus and the same price actually. The ultra is not the same it has a S-pen
Matt, I think you missed a huge difference between the FFC's here. The OP13 does not have an AF FFC and the S25 Ultra (and almost every other non-BBK phone has it).
what do you mean by FFC, and what's the AF FFC, can you explain in detail?
@The_HandsOn_Guy Sure. Just abbreviating for brevity. Front facing camera and autofocus. The OP13 has a fixed focus camera like many other BBK devices. The S25 and the other popular American devices all have autofocus on the front camera.
Android phones be cooking so many good options!
Great comparison buddy. Apparently, unless you are an S-PEN user, there is no reason to buy Samsung over OnePlus
OnePlus maxes out at 512GB. That limitation makes it a non-starter for many power users. Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely going to be the true S25 Ultra killer.
@@scottwillie6389 on the contrary, I feel power users will MOST DEFINITELY have secondary storages. In fact I would totally be fine with a 256GB phone, considering that I can regularly just backup my photos on my private server every day. Yeah I'm an edge case but still, replace my server with a little m.2 SSD.
@@scottwillie6389 You can't get the xiaomi in the USA can u?
@@scottwillie6389 I think that is for NA market or something? because there is 1TB option in the global version
@@scottwillie6389 What are you doing with 1TB that you can't do with 512GB?
As a PC gamer, quibbling over the difference between 512GB and 1TB seems entirely pointless
My PC has 32TBs
My phone is not a PC
Why does it need more than 512GBs of storage?
Last year i picked up the OnePlus 12 and i really wanted to love it but the curved screen with palm touches were a pain and the OS seemed buggy. This year i gave OnePlus another shot and im so glad i did. The OnePlus 13 is amazing. Best Android phone option in the US
Ya I wasn't a fan of the op12 as well. I agree they did a great job with the op13
The OnePlus 13 or the Google pixel 9 Pro XL are the only two smartphones I would buy in 2025. Currently waiting for the pixel 10 Pro XL
Make this video trend for those who doubt the oneplus camera
It was really bad when it first came out but they updated it and its pretty solid now. Not as good but close enough to the S25 Ultra.
Ir blaster, ip 69 rating, charging speed, and cloning are my big needs for me. Ohh charger in the box with the OP..
Great review , just in time for me to upgrade to a ONE PLUS 13 , after using Samsung phones for over a decade now
You will love it!
Change is nice. What are the main reasons which have made choose OnePlus 13 over S25 Ultra ?
@iAfroTech easy , because I don't like supporting a company that doesnt listen to its customers and not innovating anymore . One plus is trying something new every year and makes me excited
@@nchmusic99 Well, i would go to the S25 Ultra but i like you act coherent: you don't like a decision ➡️ you switch.
I've switched from Galaxy A8 to iPhone 13 Pro because i didn't want an Exynos S22.
I don't like people saying "i will keep my S23 Ultra or S24 Ultra". When you switch, you send a clear message to the brand. It's more coherent for me. People who keep their S23 Ultra or S24 Ultra, still are Galaxy users.
Hows the UI compare to a samsung using the oneplus? Is it comparable or an easy transition?
What's the icon pack he's using on S25 Ultra??
Why do you want to have 7 software updates from Samsung. My S23Us battery life got worse and worse with every upgrade. Other things are also downgraded, so whats the point?
I went with the OnePlus 13 as I could care less about the camera but the IP69 rating, battery life and charging speeds both wired and wireless are very important to me as well as being cheaper.
Awesome content and video comprision keep it up as always Sir
Thanks, will do!
Depending on the deals. I wouldn't pay full price for the s25u, I just don't feel it worth the money.
I agree deal or no buy for the s25 ultra but samsung is the king of deals so that will always be a thing
There's no reason to pay full price. Every major carrier in the US has promos. I got the S25 plus for free trading in my S21. The Ultra would have cost $300. They don't even carry One Plus.
@@MatthewMoniz Which clearly shows how Samsung phones are overpriced if they are able to give massive discounts...
Samsung has been playing it too safe while costing more. I switched to OnePlus this time around.
I would say the oneplus is better. The same chip, bigger battery and it’s 400 bucks cheaper
@ Yup. Can’t beat that at all. Im liking OxygenOS.
I've had my 25u for a few days now, coming from a 24u... I gotta say, all the little refinements (and I understand part of the backlash is there wasn't "enough") have made this phone feel soooo good.
I know nobody asked, but the main reason I stuck with Sammy was because I like their watches better (love the rotating bezel) and it integrates better, the anti glare display, and the overall design. It's personal preference. If I was buying fresh, yeah, op13 is an easy recommendation as it's cheaper, but upgrading with Samsungs trade ins made them the same "cost" for me.
I was disappointed to see that despite 6000mah battery in the op13, some battery tests have shown it best the 25u by maybe 45 minutes at best, or 10 minutes at worst. 45 minutes is good, but if some tests 1000 extra mah only benefited it 10 minutes, that's no longer a huge draw.
Hope everyone enjoys whichever they end up going with.. but I would definitely say that the 25u is amazing, even coming from something as recent as a 24u.

You're welcome! Glad it helped.
Since most carriers don't offer the Oneplus on their websites does this phone work with all carriers.
Watching from my OP13. Everything is excellent, including the camera.
OnePlus actually gives 6 years of updates ... 4 OS releases and 2 more of security updates. You can't say Samsung does 7, including security updates only, but not give OnePlus the same stat. It's one year difference. Of course, my last OnePlus device went 8 years before it went for a fatal swim (no IP rating on the OP3 back in 2016), so ultimately updates can matter ... to whoever ends up with my old phones. I've been on an annual cycle lately. The S24 Ultra to the OP13 absolutely feels like an upgrade. I like the S-Pen, but didn't use it constantly, and the cameras were okay ... but honestly I prefer the results I'm seeing from the OnePlus over last year's Ultra. Now I'm just waiting for OnePlus to release their Watch 3 to replace my still solid but aging Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. I definitely hate the way Samsung disables features that are hardware-based if you aren't using one of their phones with it. (ECG/blood pressure being two of them.) I didn't like losing those when I had the Pixel 7 Pro, don't like it now with the OnePlus, so hopefully I can find something that gives me ECG readings without being tied to brand lock-in.
Watching this on my OnePlus 13 Arctic Dawn color, this makes feel so good for some reason.
Can't wait to see a full comparison of AI, social media, and all the features.
I suppose that they are both so good that you should just buy whichever one is offering a better deal in your market. Samsung does have 2 years warranty and offer better after sale support where I live.
I am just a dude who's making YT video, that just grabbed one more likes on it. Keep creating good contents like this. Btw, I am using OnePlus 13 and its absolutely gorgeous in all aspects. :)

I have both phones and I am currently using the s25 ultra. I am already missing my OnePlus 13 and will most likely switch back to the OnePlus 13 as my daily phone! Listen as a OnePlus fan who switched to Samsung I honestly regret it. No only is the screen literally inferior to the Oneplus the one plus screen has more features than Samsung. Hopefully we'll have more phones with invisible display display selfie cameras so we can finally move on from the dam hole. Phone screens peeked in 2018-2019 the pop up camera was sooo cool and it never broke.
Unfortunately where i live wifi calling is a must and att doesnt allow that on the OP. Guess my s21 ultra will be kept another year.
6:07 I'd disagree about software update thing. First, with Samsung phones, you don't really know when or if you're going to get them. One UI 7.0 was supposed to come last year, it's february 2025. and S24/23 devices still don't have it. You may recieve it month before others, or three months after, you never really know. Second, I've been using Samsung phones since Galaxy S3/4 days. As soon as new model is presented, software updates almost always degrade experience on "older" ones. Not that you'll feel it right away, but with each update battery life gets worse, new camera issues here and there, whole phone feels less responsive. Of course, 7 years of updates is pure marketing gimmick, based on statistics of how long people actually use their phone.
Upgraded from S22 ultra. missing stylus and samsung legacy 😢. Don't know good upgrade or not.
Top reasons for switching from samsung s22 ultra
1. For no reason - moisture issue detected (Oct 2024) - Replaced port for 2500INR
2. Brightbar next to front camera post update. - Temporary solution , set 60hz from 120 hz.
3. Display flex complaint (Dec 2024) - Replaced 3400
fedup using , Jan 2025 with S22U exchnage brought OP13.
Is it possible for you to color the white wire of your led light to match the color of your wall? It would look much cleaner
It really bothers me that the camera circle on the oneolus isn't centered
S25U display is a peak of Android (antireflective coating, flat, thin bezels, decent curved edges). But the phone itself is still basically S23U(S22U), which is 2(3) years old phone and there are many other and better options these days. Like this OP13
Owner of OP13 and S24U, if you want raw performance and will use it as a daily driver then OP13 is the way to go but if you're into some AI stuff with "productivity" then go with the S25U.
I am waiting for Samsung to use batteries similar to Oneplus, Vivo which come in larger size but to do not add weight and also the Charging speeds need to increase for Samsung phones. I am a S23 user and I am hoping by S26 series they will make these changes
Not planning to get rid of my iPhone anytime soon, but if I had to return to Android, I could potentially consider a OnePlus I think.
I had the oneplus 9 pro and the 10 pro and honestly the phones were always fast when I had almost no apps loaded on to the phone but the minute I started using very heave both phones were always stuttering so to me the samsung is more consistent and more powerful in real day to day life
green line phone or iqoo 13. choice is yours
Hey Matthew the camera rings around the s 25 ultra are just glued not fixed. Got a gap between the phone back glass and the ring which will cause dust accumulation over time. Also very weak, watch jerry's video. Samsung has gone backwards 😢

Hello,
Thanks for the video.
Is there a way to quickly search for apps on Oneplus, just like swipe up displaying keyboard and search for an app?
Or is going to the app drawer and go far to the top search bar.
I heard that global search wasn't working well for searching apps.
Samsung did a best way by bringing at the bottom the search bar on the app drawer.

There is a global search option available directly on the Home screen of the device as the search button above the dock area. You can customise the searching options also according to your preference.

In EU OnePlus cost the same, if not more expensive..
1150 eur for the 512GB model with 500 eur trade in
Samsung in Hungary cost around 1400 eur for the 512 but you have 300 eur trade in for even a 4y old device..
Really! The bar shape and sharp edges doesn't look premium or comfortable. Why all companies are marching towards that!
If oneplus brings something like dex to oneplus would be great.
Samsung Dex and the S-Pen what keeps me with Samsung
I hate that OnePlus releases phones end of the year, they are outshined by those released in the middle. Op 12 was so good even now but was really outmatched by their own brand (oppo). For me the best phone from 2024 was the OP 12 just by price and availability, it was on par with most flagships and cost even less, and now the 13 is even better! (I hate the new colors but that's just an opinion)
I cancelled my pre-order for the S25 Ultra and I'm deciding between the S24 Ultra and the OnePlus 13. I'd rather buy the Oneplus 13 because I've had Samsung phones for a long time so I want something new, but I'm used to Samsung's UI.
Go for the OnePlus dude. I was the same. I tried it and love it!
I have even been an iPhone user for years and now switched to this fantastic Oneplus13. Do not miss the iPhone for a moment!! Best purchase ever for me. And enjoy this phone every day.
I have used mostly Samsung for the past years and it takes some slight getting used to a new UI but it's very much worth it for the change. This OP13 is outstanding! Battery life and charging speeds are a game changer!
I was in the same situation. But with s24 ultra againts op13.
I got the s24 Ultra, but I think I will refund it.
Don't get me wrong it is a good phone, but:
For me the adaptive refresh rate just, idk is messing around, microstuttering, social media apps are not so smooth, scroll lag, the hdr is adaptive(like Samsung thinks we watch Netflix just in the summer at the beach) anyway, camera is good, actually very good. But overall for me will be a refund!
i was a samsung user most of my life (s8+, note 10+, note 20 ultra, s21 ultra, s24 ultra). oneplus 13 is my first non samsung phone and my god is it amazing. so happy with actual innovation and improvements over my previous samsung. it was an easy transition.
In my country it's about 200 to 300 dollars more for the Ultra if you compare 512gb models. OnePlus is expensive in my country as they are imported and not sold locally by OnePlus or any carriers
