    Thank you for sharing!! I love this Juki 18TLQVP. First time Juki owner. I should have purchase this machine before making a mistake purchasing Brother Luminaire Xp2. My 4th sewing machine. A Bernina, Husqvarna Viking, Brother Luminaire Xp2, now a Juki Haruka owner.

    GREAT video! I've had my TL-18 for 2 years and have not been doing the proper threading to wind the bobbin! I wasn't using that little hole before wrapping it around the tensioner! Also SO appreciated the training on the top and bottom tension. Thank you!

    • @dcwatashi
      @dcwatashi 2 роки тому +1

      The hole is supposed to be for slippery thread not necessarily for cotton , only if you are having issues.
      (I have watched a boatload of videos from different people plus I looked at the manual)

    • @cynthiasymons
      @cynthiasymons Рік тому

      I tried to use the hole but I could not get the thread tension right using it on mine-thread kept slipping out of the tension disks despite my best efforts to “floss it in there,” and I ended up with a wonky bobbin wind (with Glide thread). After trying twice, I followed the manual, then it worked fine.

    Tisk tisk, I did read the manual not all of it yet but you are supposed to put 5-7 drops of oil if the machine has been sitting around for a while and you’re supposed to be doing that before you do any sewing.
    That could potentially cause a problem because people are going to assume that you can just put one drop in even though they should be reading their manual anyway 😁😁

    • @JukiJunkies
      @JukiJunkies  2 роки тому +1

      5-7 drops is usually excessive however its dependent on your machines current condition. Are your sure it says 5-7 drops per hole?

    I prefer cotton thread vs polyester for piecing. Does the TL-18 do well with cotton threads? Your videos always recommend glide polyester threads.

    Great video, thanks! One question. I've heard that if you adjust that first tension knob (at the top) that it will adjust the length of the bobbin thread when it's cut. Is this correct? I couldn't find that information in my manual for my 2010Q.

    I have the 2010 - it was an impulse buy and part of my retail therapy after I lost my husband 4 years ago. Unfortunately it hasn't seen much action and mostly another member of my stable - haha! But at least I know the correct way to bobbin, thread and maintain! If the 10 & 18 are the same then why are there two concurrently being manufactured and sold?

      @@JukiJunkiesI have no idea about this sewing machine, my country Bangladesh this type of sewing machine is not available here.
      Most people in Bangladesh sew by hand with needle thread. I have a very small organization where I help underprivileged poor women in villages through handicrafts. I have my own UA-cam channel called Nakshi Polly
      My sewing machine needs no design.
      I am a designer myself
      We first design vine leaf flower with Nakshikantha bedsheet pen. And then hand stitched with needle thread.
      I will work on the sewing machine using only free motton. would you please say
      Which would be the best sewing machine on a low budget?
      I poor people can not afford to buy sewing machines with more money

    On threading to wind bobbin. Thats really interesting. I looked in my TL18 manual and it says/shows nothing about feeding thru the hole and it says/shows to bring the thread clockwise around the tensioner.

    • @dcwatashi
      @dcwatashi 2 роки тому

      Check out page 13 it tells you that if you’re having trouble keeping the thread in the bobbin tension area to thread through the hole
      Also on another video it said if your thread is slippery kind of like the glide thread that would be another reason

    • @yolandarowe3094
      @yolandarowe3094 3 роки тому +2

      Yes, the presser foot should be up, so that the tension discs are open, which allows you to thread properly.

    Thanks so much for this tutorial! My tension was completely off and the manual not detailed enough. You‘ve really provided all important information I‘ve needed. I only have one more question about something I‘ve seen in a video directly from Juki company: is it true that for the right bobbin tensión it should always be checked and adjusted first with a 50 weight thread before using a different weight?

    😍😍😍 I am determined to have a Juki by next year. Could embroidery thread work on this machine since it is 40wt? Also do you recommend this machine to sew bags since the arm space is more narrow compared to the 2010 Juki?

    • @JukiJunkies
      @JukiJunkies  2 роки тому +1

      Make sure you're using it with fluent motion and not going super slow. Its all one motion. If that doesn't work you may need a new needle threader or make sure to check your needle position.
