I actually really liked Shift 2 lmao.... The thing about the shift series is that it's very easy to be immersed in them.... How your vision starts to blur and only focus on the road when going super fast or the gears being highlighted when breaking.... Whenever you flip your car it feels like an actual car crash lmao.... Always loved the Shift games and I wish they would make a third one

Yeah having helmet physics doesn't make your game realistic but it is a really cool feature that i think should be in more sims.

They meant the feeling of a race driver, helmet view etc., driving at night, it was so common to lose the lights XD

The sequel of this game is called Project Cars 3, a nice game with the wrong name

The studio behind Shift made Assetto Corsa so ACC is maybe shift 3..

These are actually my favorite NFS games after Underground.
For the handling, there's a mod for it to have heavier steering but grippier cornering.
GTyres is very compatible with gamepads.
Honestly this is a great game and has such an amazing sense of speed compared to most sims because of the helmet cam.
Honestly Shift 2 is what made me into simulation racing games, finished this underrated buggy mess 5 times.
I do love the Works Conversion idea, make your car a fucking monster. Sims rarely have that level of customization
For me the most amazing part of this game is giving a heavy racing modification to almost every car in this game.
In 2011, when I walkthrough Shift 2, I chose the Golf as the starting car...

I know shift was not a game for nfs séries, but shift 2 was one of the best games i ever played, is What got me into sim racing
You haven't lived til you've tried modding this game. Nothing like doing 290MPH passes up and down the back stretch of the Nurburgring in a 2500+ HP 11,000RPM FC RX7.

I remember playing this game 9 years ago and the attention of detail put through is unbelievable!This kind of sense of speed and immense realism is missing in the current gen simulation games.
I love the way this game simulated the emotion and experience of racing so well. The only game that made me scared to go fast.
I’ve tried getting the Time Attack 4WD Scion TC, I used a modified R32 Skyline and I got 2nd place on all 4 races (or 5).
I rammed the AI, but the physics makes me spin out instead of the AI spinning out.

Grid 2 used something like that , if you tried to spin someone by ramming their rear , the game would instantly make the car glue on the road like a rock and the guy who rammed would get fucked
Well that scion has crazy grip. It sticks to the road like there's glue on it. You will have to use a kind of Muscle car and some luck to spin that car out

This is the best nfs for drifting by far.
This game definetely needs a rewind feature with the way the AI drives. And if they don't screw you over you still start at the very end of the pack and you have to take massive risks to get to the front in 2-3 short laps especially at hard difficulty

Pretty much my introduction to the Shift sub series (cuz someone managed to buy the last pre-owned copy of Shift 1 in the specific online store). Got it like 1 or 2 weeks ago.
I did enjoy it. I prefer it for the gameplay, but I do prefer ProStreet for the personality and story. Not saying that I hate ProStreet's gameplay, I just hate the times I felt like I needed to grind in the campaign just so I could upgrade my vehicles enough so I could win.
This did feel like a breath of fresh air, but I did stumble upon a few things in Shift 2 I wasn't a fan of (god I hated the times some of the cars basically twitched depending on how I came out of a corner), but I do prefer it over ProStreet when it comes to the gameplay.

Dont use 3rd person cam, never restart car or race when u first hit, dont use ideal line (arrows on road), turn off almost assisstents and use manual shift... i set it today (becouse a download today first time) and its really funny... but F1 is more precision :)... good luck and have a nice game ;-)

That was the problem with the game it had no direction the first game was simarcade and allowed to use aggression however this game the mechanics were a bit more sim based but maintained the aggression from the first which don’t fit together they didn’t knew who their target audience was if it would’ve went towards the sim genre it would’ve been seen as too unoriginal with the nfs logo just there to increase it’s sales and it wouldn’t made sense making it more arcade like because hot pursuit 2010 was already doing that

People who think shift sucks also think they are driving gods IRL because they play most wanted. the game dsnt suck, you suck. The AI in shift was SLOOOOOW if ur used to sim racers, they are only aggressive when you are even fkn slower.

@@basithph8958 I mean this one isn't recent either IMO and a lot of others do have interior view, like nfs 1,2 and 3 altho not on all platforms, nfs highstakes has it, nfs Porsche and not sure if I've missed any but there is definitely a bunch of other nfs games that have it.
But it would be nice if they would bring it back tho.

i really liked this game :(
It's a shame it's a "Need for Speed" title, its a pretty good "simcade" in its own right and had some pretty interesting ideas but none of which made sense when compared to either og Need for Speed ie High Stakes, Hot Pursuit; nor comparable to UG2/MW/Carbon. Certainly was one of the best racing games I had played before Forza Motorsport 4.
That said, I did play with PTMu.

There was an android version of nfs shift and for some reason it's gone, you can't find it anywhere don't know the reason why EA removed it maybe in favor of Real Racing 3 I guess.
