Kudos, great video! With replaceable hd this thing is REALLY interesting.
The design and engineering is profound. Apple should be truly proud of this fantastic device. So impressed, the best computer ever made, ever. Great to see the teardown, it restores faith in humanity. Good video.
Really? Glad you can say that.
@@Ottynetyou Is there a better machine ?
Wow, it looks beautifully built! Such a small but powerful machine. Who would've thought!
I’m super curious how you repasted the mac mini, and if so, how are the thermals?
As always great informations - thank guys
They owe all the customers that bought the old Mac mini an apology and a free upgrade. I can’t believe I paid $1300 for a Mac mini m2 with 512 GB of ram. And now they’re selling an M4 with 16 GB of ram for 600 bucks. The worst part is that you can’t upgrade the memory of the ram on the old minis.
I bought the M1 with thanks to your suggestion and I’m about to get the mini M4 for the same reason
this video was great because I like teardowns in general. Mostly I feel like Apple gives you some but not all of this, and I like to know what I'm purchasing without taking my own unit apart piece by piece, so thank you.
That’s incredible!!! You guys are awesome 😊
Great Job team! 👍Thank you so much for making this great vid. I can’t wait to get my own Mac Mini M4 pro. This makes waiting a bit easier.
I wanted the Mac Mini Pro with 2TB storages and 64GB memory. ❤❤❤❤❤❤😂🎉🎉🎉😅
2:17 “alright we got the clip” lmao
2:24 "oh no guys, we got a crack" delayed realization?
I didn't even get my new Mac mini yet and he already broke his. 😄
So when is the Mac mini review coming? Which one will be enough for Final Cut 4K editing with heavy Topaz video effects ? And also lots of luts ? I don’t need 8k work flow
I really enjoyed watching that video discussing the Mac mini M7 in detail. It was fascinating to learn about how Apple addressed issues, from versions and enhanced performance I was particularly impressed by how they managed to blend power and efficiency in such a compact design now. Appreciate the explanation of the internal components. It really helped me grasp the specific updates made in this latest version. )
Apple is cooking something else bro 🔥🔥 this is the real deal. God bless Apple 🙌
Did you get it put back together and did it work?
Why am I so into these videos when I have no intention of upgrading my M2!!!!
We gotta look at our future (4 years later options)
Incredible piece of engineering ❤
What's crazy to me is how portable it is. I would not worry about it one bit in a little stiff case inside of a checked bag.
Great video. I appreciate you doing this. I am going to buy one of these. But I wasn’t too thrilled about the SSD in the base version. But now that I see I can switch it out. I think I’ll go this route and when I find someone who makes a SSD for the Mac mini… I’ll swap it out. Awesome job!
OK, I'm convinced. Upgrading from my 2019 16" MBP to a M4 Mac Mini. Apple nailed this. I can't ignore such a good price vs performance. Given iBoff RCC has shown upgrading Mac proprietary storage can be done, the base model is a steal.
Incredible engineering! Go Tim 🍎 !
I was waiting you guys!
Impressive engineering feat. The electronics looks neat AF.
We can upgrade the storage? Yes !!! Can you make the tests for games like the resident evil for Mac ? Thanks
Well. Knowing Apple. It's very likely that the storage is software locked to the motherboard. Preventing any replacements from working.
@@Dr904 It's really possible that they did it. But then why should make it removable then?
@@Joao_Humberto Probably for easy and cost efficient production. If they've to produce 1TB SSD mac mini, they don't need to create a separate mac mini motherboard. They can produce the same motherboards and hook this SSD chip in them.
@@aseemsharan It makes sense
@@Joao_HumbertoApple technician repairs that can charge 100$+ in service for a relatively simple physical process and a few steps with Apple repair (proprietary of course) software.
This is what I was waiting for. Thank you. I'm definitely getting one this Thanksgiving.
Can it boot up automaticly when external power applied, so it can be attached to a TV and booted up using a powerboard switch, same one powering the TV?
That is no need to press the power button, just apply power?
You can enable this in settings (start up automatically after a power failure)
this is impressive indeed! Good job!
No ground on the power, so if you plug it in a hot outlet what happens? Just wondering.
Just picked up my M4 Mac Mini yesterday (11/09/2024) from the Apple Store. I preordered mine with 24g ram and 1TB SSD.
Good luck putting that back together
Why the CPU cover with the apple logo doesn't made with copper to increase the heat conduction speed or its because there will be unwanted electric conduction? What material used for the chip silver looking apple logo cover then?
Good job, the last tear down I saw they ripped up the shielding.
So where can you purchase the SSD for these new Mac Mini M4's?
I've always been amazed with Apple's hardware and engineering, I'm just not a fan of the software. But I think they did an awesome job with this new Mac Mini.
can we mod it into imac 2020
Always stoked for your coverage during new product launches. Looking forward to the M4 Pro comparisons. Hoping you’re doing a comparison of the binned vs non binned M4 Pro too!
SSD is technically like the studio according to dosdude. not actually swappable without soldering.
11:13 find the hidden mickey 😅
Waiting to see if it’s possible to mod this mini to run off of 12vdc like my old mini. Better for operating in a hamshack or mobile situation.
Can to put the performance difference between each varient of m4 like 8c/8c in imac, 9c/ 10c in ipad pro and 10c/10c in ipad pro and all other macs (mac mini and macbook pro) please 🥺
I would love to see if the SSD can actually be swapped or if it’s going to be like the Mac Studio.
So will there be aftermarket SSD’s available? I know the apple SSD’s aren’t the fastest
This guy is unnecessarily enthusiastic about this disassembly process
I think I may have to get the M4 Pro Mini. Wow. This will be my first Apple since my Performa in the 90's. It isn't that I didn't like Apple, but my family is PC and I only used Apple in school, but when we moved to Dallas, I went from an Apple Charter District to a Windows based one. I still want a G4 Cube, an old Power PC Pro, and now one of these M chips. Apple using their own silicon is the Apple I grew up with. These little guys are so badass. Also, eff intel Apple.
I love the power cable, got a braided cable cover thats really really cool. Never seen anything like that before! Loving mine.
THANKS FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! God Bless!
Would love it if you could test out the difference between the 12 core m4 pro and 14 core m4 pro mac mini's. Especially the thermal throttling and heat.
Hello ! Very nice video. Do you think it’s possible to power the Mac mini by thunderbolt port ?
That's is actually a MAC-mini you bought from AliExpress that has a Raspberry Pi inside 😅
