I got an awesome print from one of my favorite TV shows of all time Parks and Rec. I wanted to build a picture frame that would make Ron Swanson proud. This is part of a longer series of picture frame builds were I used different joinery techniques and frame styles to fill up a picture frame wall in my house!

I've seen splines a bunch of times to reinforce miter joints, but never dowels. I love that idea. Nice work!

How did you plan your cuts to ensure the artwork fit inside the rabbet?

Looks great. Look for acid free backing and mounting tape for anything you want to keep for a while.

Good call, I need to get some real backing material and tape, what I used what just scrap I had laying around.

@@makeorbreakshop I was going to comment the same thing. I used to do custom picture framing for a living and you wouldn't believe the effect, over time, that non-archival materials will have on pieces. Such a beauty of a frame and print, would hate to see it ruined. Might also consider UV resistant plexiglass as well, somewhat easier to cut and will protect the integrity of the print if it sees any sun exposure at all.
