I think the callers memory needs to be jogged because he didn’t mention the fact that Tuchel took over a Chelsea team in 10th position in the league and free falling. He eventually took us up to fourth.
And won the Champions League of course! I was stunned when Chelsea got rid of him.

I was shocked he was sacked, yeah we had a bit of a dodgy start but I always felt he would’ve been good enough to have turned it round particularly with the resources that would be available. Also we may have made a better job of the recruitment with him guiding the board. But of course that’s why they got rid of him, because they wanted to play football manager👍

Why do some of our fans have an ego? WE’VE WON NOTHING FOR SIXTY YEARS. And Tuchel is a proven winner - ideally I’d go for an English manager but which English manager is better than Tuchel? I’d say none. Let’s get behind him.
Its all for nothing anyway. With Spain, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, France and Portugal in the mix. England have no chance. Q/Finals perhaps maybe Semis. That's all she wrote. England have no identity or style of play or natural flair. Tuchel isnt a miracle worker.
There were no English managers better than Capello or Sven at the time either. Why not just give one of the English managers a chance and see? Southgate did better than everyone expected and he had no winning experience.
@@NibiTV England got to two finals and a semi-final under Southgate. I'm pretty sure they are in with a shout with a manager like Tuchel. And the style of play is normally down to the manager. Tuchel has a style of play so England will use his style of play
@lalobo99 They're in with a shout. Its just my opinion. Spain are really good and will only get better. France, Argentina, a resurgent Italy. I just don't see a path for England here. The moment has passed. The tenure starts in March 2025 in earnest. Then the world cup is in 2026. That's tough.

Had that been Yurgen Klopp no one would have had a problem.
He plays an English style. Pressing up front, fast paced, used the wings, and played with physicality. Tuchel doesn't have any English qualities, football wise.

England just select the 11 best players they can from any country and play against another country's 11 best that they could find from around the world. They could even bring in international transfer windows so we can try and sign Spain's and Brazil's best to represent us.

To Matt's point, didn't Pep win the PL playing Foden as an F9? Also Rodri took time to settle, so Tuchel earned that CL win rather than anything Pep did wrong.
A great appointment for England, the players play for foreign managers. So his methods, will probably be similar to what they're used to.
If anything Kante won the cl by shutting down city's ENTIRE team essentially on his own but it's not like tuchel for one didn't account for Kante doing a Kante and for 2 he still tactically won that game tuchel is a very good manager with a style of play and will pick the team he thinks will perform best as long as he does that, like you said he'll be a great appointment

These fans are clueless. That Chelsea champions league win was anything but lucky. Unbeaten in the group stage under Frank and then under tuchel We beat atletico (spanish title winners that year) without conceding a goal, Porto (Portuguese champions), Real Madrid (current Spanish champions) and Man City (English champions). And in those 7 games we only conceded 2 goals. And anyone can go back and watch the final, we had way more chances than city and were the better team. The 2012 win was way more lucky
I'm not English, but I can understand those who struggle to separate the England manager from the England team.
Portugal have a similar attitude to the English FA, and have appointed a Brazilian and now a Spaniard (yes, a Spaniard) to lead their team.
