I can imagine Beethoven hearing this for the first time and saying: I want to compose like this
Underrated comment. Haha it’s absolutely true
@@JustAnothrGerman he was not born deaf
@@JustAnothrGerman no he wasn’t deaf until his later years
Deeply
Indeed.
Mozart in every movement
Molto Allegro: Well, suffer a little😊
Adagio: Rest but with semi-fusas 🙂
Allegro assai: it looks easy, but don't trust yourself 😅
Just found this piece while doing some sight reading practice today, and i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks the first movement sounds like beethoven 😂
Masterful performance by the great Eschenbach of this incredible piece, Mozart's"Sonate Pathetique",as some commenters have called it!!
Well, I think it's not out of context at all...apart from the basic tonality (a favorite of Beethoven)the second movement of this sonata has a wonderful secondary theme that will be quoted years later in the slow movement of Beethoven's Pathetique!!
And of course the overall feeling of this piece is full of "pathos",as in every Mozart piece written in minor key..they are my very favorites, and I wish he could have written many more of them!!!
Lovely comment, thank you.

Mozart's music invoke the playfulness of animal's and that's why I love his music
Bravo---What a model for Sonata Pathetique!
Indeed
Does anybody else find that the melody at 11:07 is the same (or very similar) as the second movement on Beethoven’s pathétique sonata??
I thought exactly the same as a I was hearing it. I think the resemblance spans over 7 bars but it is very beautiful.
Great commentary as always, thank you!
You're very welcome, my close friend!
Thank you for sharing!
My favorite piece
Wonderfully nuanced phrases, enhanced by shaded dynamics. Agility and precision in technique is always correctly assumed to be present in Eschenberg's performances!! The ultimate professional, able to give free rein to his artistry since he is prepared in all matters of technique. Bravo, for his ultimate artistry!!

11:08 Beethoven Pathetique 2nd movement
It sounds like Beethoven. I love this one.
Beethoven was far from able to reach the incomparable level of this Mozart sonata!
@@urshandschin5108 you have to be joking. Beethovens music is way more emotionally expressive and sophisticated than Mozart by a long mile
@@lolsup9817 in your view.
@@markusboyd4834 that’s exactly right
@@markusboyd4834 No, it's not an opinion. Beethoven's music is by far more demanding, evolved & technical. You are the one giving asinine opinions. Beethoven was Mozart on steroids. He is credited for releasing music from it's classical chains. Pianos had to be upgraded to keep up with his musical demands. Maybe you can make the argument that Mozart was a better overall composer, but on the keyboard, he was no match for Beethoven.
Bravo just bravo 👏

W o n d e r f u l Sonata ! Excellent Christoph Eschenbach !
Was captured throughout all three movements. Reading along ... especially the Adagio,
made me (I think for the first time) aware of just how beautiful this KV 457 really is . . .
Thank you for giving my week such a good start :o)
Looks like the first mvt of the first sonata of Beethoven sometimes
1st and 2nd reminds me of the pathetique
Actually, that is one similarity.

It's like an interesting movie played too fast.
I do not like this mechanical playing ! It sounds like an etude and it is too agitato !!
I will make sure to pass along your comments to Mr. Eschenbach.
