Well, you did get many comments on this video. I didn’t order these because I didn’t think they looked like roses, too abstract as many have stated. I FULLY APPRECIATE your tutorials and honest opinion on the products. That’s why I watch your channel. I think you went above and beyond with this set. You did your best and made the most out of it. You could have decided to not post this tutorial at all, but you posted it and tried to guide us through it. Not all products hit the bullseye and I think this set was one of those. I’m a long time AG fan and I purchase everything of hers within my budget. This is one set I didn’t want which is rare for me. So keep your head up high and keep posting your great tutorials. My dear Vianney, you have the patience of Job! I thought I would prep the whole thing, using three colors for the roses and the leaves. I put each part in its own small container, numbering them 1, 2, & 3. I put three roses together, not satisfied with how they looked. I am not happy. Too much work for this old gal! I will cancel the other shipments and call it a day. Thank you for this great video.

They are not the easiest to work with, and the flowers look really great on camera. I will try them again the way I normally would layer flowers...we will see! (: TYSM!

Wow, Patty, I truly appreciate that. It is difficult for me to use an item...that maybe isn't up to par of what it's supposed to be...but I do try and use it/talk about it in a way that is helpful, anyway. You know what I mean? Sometimes, I can't get there...but I try! At times, rarely, my patience runs out, but I hope I don't come off as mean or anything. That's not my intention. (: TY!!
Vianney thanks for being so honest in your videos. I could tell that you were not that thrilled about this flower auto ship. For the most part Anna shoots it right out of the park. This time I feel her design team didn't spend enough time in perfecting this flower and leaf design auto ship. I am really glad that I did not invest in it. There are other companies that have been doing flowers and leaf die sets for years so much more spectacular then this. Also a year or so when she took the magnet sheets away. She never lowered the price of her dies. They are just way too much. Sorry Anna.

I feel that way a lot with layered flowers. Can’t decide if they look “ right” or not. When yours were finished, i thought they looked beautiful! Lovely tag.

Thank you for your video and review. Some products work for some and not for others. I got these last week and have been using them every day after work. I'm actually finding it kind of therapeutic. I just cut several sets then mix and match all of them. I find that they coordinate beautifully. I've even tried using six colors and mixing and matching. I can't seem to go wrong. It's like a puzzle. You cut a bunch of sets and then decide how to layer them. And you make a bunch at once. I'm loving these and the pop up bouquet dies which you also did a great tutorial on.

Yes, for the first layer...the embossing does do that...then it's every man for himself after that one...as you see in the video. LOL!

Thank you your honest opinion and for sticking with your project. I think it’s always best to go with your own instincts. Besides, Flowers come in a wide range shades of color.

I finally had time to see this to the end. I'm sorry you're having a hard time. I actually like this die. I mentioned I cut mine in white, then color them. I don't really follow the directions that much. When they all combine together with the leaves it's not that bad. I just wish they're a bit smaller to fit A2 card better.

This reminded me of the TH Colorize dies. I own a couple of those and even though the completed project is super cute, they are too much work; for me. Your tag is really pretty. Ill have to remember to use those embossing folders and background stamps more. TFS

Actually, I found this to be easier to put together than many of the layered flower dies I have from other companies. Often there are lots of tiny pieces. The embossed section makes for a great guide. I agree that the instructions could be more clear. I also go light to dark or dark to light. Maybe the very small center of the flowers could be yellow like the stamens and other inside parts. I am keeping this one.
That's so interesting. I have tons of multi-layer dies from many other companies...and I would rank these in the lowest rung. They aren't at all intuitive, where most other companies make them so that it just "clicks." I'll try them again the way I normally do...light to dark, etc... But I just don't know. I'll probably keep them so I can still keep the autoship... Thanks for sharing your experience.

I think you perfectly hit the nail on the head. They are very abstract…to the point of not really looking like anything which is so weird, the camera picks it up better than what you look at in real life. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Your video really helped me to decide to send mine back without opening it. It is an interesting concept but in this case not worth all the trouble. I would keep the leaves if they were sold separately. All of your other videos have inspired me to buy something if I have not seen it before. So thank you for all of your valuable information

I don't have this set but I think if I did, I'd have to "wing" it. Instructions seem a tad bit off and a little confusing however, your final project is lovely! The embossed tag really brings the flower to life. Thank you for sharing!

Lovely tag. I watched all of 4 of Anna's HSN previews and had made a list of what I wanted to pick up. Once it was clear they weren't doing $5 shipping, a lot was elimated including this and the birdcage. After your video using the birdcage as a pop up, I am purchasing the birdcage, but not this one. You have much more patience than I do! LOL! Thanks so much for your insightful reviews/tutorials!

Funny enough, even with the word double-sided thing going...I think the Crafter's Companion sets make a more gorgeous flower...easier! Maybe you're referring to the DP Layered Rose set? I love that one. So, I must admit...the flowers I made here look much prettier on camera. Maybe I need a little distance to see them well...they don't look like much of anything when it's in your hand, in real life. LOL!! I have 3 different sets of flowers like this and love to make them. They are not AG. I really like how the tag turned out. Sorry for the confusion. Hugs
When I saw Anna's preview I really considered buying these dies, but when I realized they all came in one die I decided to pass. After seeing your video I am so glad I did. You did a wonderful job putting the pieces together, but this is just too 'fiddly' for me. There are so many more dies available on the market that are constructed and engineered much better than these. Thanks for your honest review. Hugs, Kris

How about cutting in white or the lightest color and then coloring darker pieces with alcohol markers or whatever?
When I saw that all tree were cut out at once per color that was a deal breaker for me. And I don’t particularly think the depth of dimensions is achieved by using three colors….maybe if the colors where vey much in the same color-way and closet in value… but these always look to me like a flower with a skeleton! Lol! But haven’t tried it …. I’m not a big fan of coloring so like the ease of dies do that work but…. This effect just doesn’t work for me. And I’ve bought a few of these….. thanks for sharing your thoughts as well.
Right? For whatever reason, it didn't occur to me until they came in that all of the layers were on one die. Already a problem (I talked about that in the haul and this video)...then they are just kind of weird. I usually don't talk "comparisons" in videos bc I like to focus on what I'm working with...but the Crafter's Comanpanion double sided layering flower dies (even with their particular cutting issues) are easier to put together (more intuitive) and make a gorgeous flower! The Diamond Press layered rose set they just came out with...have only two layers...but still prettier that these. They do read nicer on camera than in real life, though...so maybe that's what got me to buy them to begin with. LOL!! I noticed that when I was editing.

I purchased this set and was really excited about using until watching your tutorial. At least I know what to expect...maybe I can find a work around solution to make it easier or just send it back altogether🤔
I know, I was excited for it, too...then when I realized the layers for each flower were on one die...not as happy. Then even less when it wasn't like obviously "pop in here." I will give it another go just doing dark to light or light to dark like I normally do. We will see! I hope you enjoy yours, some people have said they like theirs. You never know! (:

I almost totally forgot about the tearing! LOL! I was so caught up in putting them together juuuuust right. Yeah, that's an issue! Very odd.
I probably should have followed my first thought and not ordered this set. I did so because I want the holiday and leaves autoships, even though I know that she usually offers the autoships later. I have several different layered flowers including a couple rose ones. Seeing your frustration coupled with the fact they are all on one plate will probably lead to me returning it. Anna did say in the presentation that they were not intuitive.

Did you keep your AutoShip with this item? I canceled mine I didn’t like the roses at all I thought they were far too complicated… But I think the dyes were a bit pricey.I will looked at other flowers you can put together and I would rather buy them one or two at a time with something that’s easier to work with. I’m curious if you did keep the AutoShip because I really want to see the Christmas trees and the wreaths. I would like to know the size I’m looking for things that I can put on Anna griffins houses, the gazebo and on the haunted house. I’m new to Anna Griffin stuff so I don’t know where to look or how big the things should be to not overpower the dies. Thanks I love your videos you’re so helpful and you explain everything and it makes me understand things that I just don’t understand by looking at pictures online. They get up every morning and have my breakfast with you keep up the good work we really appreciate it(((hugs)))

LOL! I want to give it one more try, on top of that I don’t want to send it back because that will cancel the other auto ships. And I really like the next one coming up. It looks more intuitive and the layers makes sense, you know. I’ve got issues!! Lol!
I did not get this set, but I did buy the small flower plate that was on super clearance. I made some pretty blue flowers that I am including in the swap. It was fun to customize my blue flowers. I wish they would use actual photos, instead of computer generated images.

I found the leaves easy(ish) to put together because they do interlock. But the roses threw me into a spin.

I really wanted to get theses and kind of still do, but the thought that went through my mind was, maybe I'll wait until they are on clearance. At any rate, I realize this isn't the "normal" style for Anna Griffin, but these are still beautiful. I Really like your finished project. So the question is, is it worth the fuss? Maybe if you try them the way you wanted to to begin with it won't be as frustrating. Just a thought

I looooove my Aqua Platinum 6! She is very pretty, and I hear you on that one! I do need to part with some of my machines that use so much space and I haven't used in months to years!
I don't mind the 'paper piecing' but the finished product wasn't a shape/image that interested me so I didn't get this set; though I thought the auto ship selections were slightly better. Given that, I think your color combination looks prettier than the ones presented at HSN! I wasn't too excited about the flower in the pop up card die that I purchased either, because it reminded me too much of this one, but got it anyway for the mechanism. Thanks for making this video, confirmed my decision to pass on this one. But, I commend her for always trying new things; you need to do that as a company. For some, this may be the best product she's ever made - you never know.
Oh, my gosh, Tracey! I think sometimes we have the same brain...I was thinking the same of the pop out die set. They are very similar flowers, but with less layers...which can also be problematic. LOL!! After working with these, I fear what's to come with the pop out die set. We will see! When I do reviews of these types...especially this one bc of the weird shapes...I stick to the "instructions." We know AG's instructions are usually pretty mediocre at best. I also try to do it in a way that people can gain some info, instead of just disaster and done. LOL!! Fingers crossed for the pop out!
@@VianneyCreates So do I!!!! :) Ok, I've been thinking about this crazy die set - like there's not enough going on, right? :) I think what I don't like about it is the center piece - seems to throw it off for me. (Not how you made it, just the design in general) What if you tried making it all one color? Maybe the depth of the layout will shine more than using different colors? Ironically, I think the end result looked better on the small tag you made than on the larger cards she showed on air. 🤷♀

I have other AG plate florals and love them - so easy to store and no searching for which pieces go with which flower. That being the case I was excited to see this set on craft day, and ordered. Am waiting for it to arrive. Unfortunately it seems to me that you disliked the product from the get go and gave it less than a fighting chance. Regardless, your finished results were still pretty. Really liked the pairing with the embossing folder. Now I’m super curious to see if my experience ends up like yours, or if I will remain as happy as I’ve been expecting to be.
Hi, Susan! Less than a fighting chance? I followed her instructions to a tee..and then still tried to make something nice with them. If I just "wanted" it to fail, I wouldn't have done any of that. I wouldn't have bought them, I was hoping for the best. They aren't my favorite, but that doesn't mean others can't enjoy them. I always say "You do you!" Not every set is for every person, I know that. This set was probably not meant for a gal like me! LOL!! I hope you enjoy yours, let me know how it goes.

I did not like the shape of the dies when I first saw them. I did not purchase them. The flowers look good from a distance but up close they just don't look right. I definitely would have had problems placing the last two layers correctly. Thank you for your honesty reviews.
That's exactly it! In my hands, working on them...they don't look like anything! LOL! They read much better on camera, that's probably why I bought them...the card examples looked so pretty. I suppose they took some inspiration from Monet!

I ran all mine with white and then color them. But i had a hard time figuring out where to put the last layer. How do you know if you get auto ship? When I get this, I think it does say auto ship.
So, for this set...it is automatically an autoship purchase. So, when you are on HSN's site, go into your account, click on the left where it says "Autoship Manager." That will take you to your autoship page, there you can see the schedule and will have the ability to skip or cancel. (What I just described is if you're on a computer...on a phone or tablet you'd find the page differently.)

If you are unhappy, why not return the dies?
I said in the video I would think about it. I definitely return items that are defective or like these...a bit of a nightmare. I want to try it again but in the way I normally use layered die cuts, dark to light or light to dark. That's all. Maybe I don't understand your comment?

From a user standpoint, I think they missed the mark with these dies. They remind me of TH colorize dies too. Kind of different for AG. Weird designs for sure.
I fully agree! It's odd that the first layer corresponds to the embossing...and then goes haywire from there! Some people commented that it is too abstract and I also think that's another issue. TY, Marilyn!!
You do a great job of explaining everything but I’m not a fan of these roses. They’re not that pretty. Altenew has beautiful die cut roses and many other stand alone die cut flowers. Thanks so much Vianney… love your channel!
I totally understand. I think like some others have commented...they are too abstract. I have other layered roses/flowers from Crafter's Companion, LDRS Creative, Diamond Press....and they are all easier to work with and look amazing. Thanks for the recommendation on Altenew! (:

TY, Janice! yeah, I just don't understand why they were designed in such an odd way. I went back and listened to the presentation, and Anna herself A) did it wrong and B) said it's "not intuitive." Like, what? LOL!!

This is a great video. I definitely know I would probably use it once and then be way too frustrated. You fought through it and ended up with a beautiful tag. If you go back and watch her presentation video she did not do it right and covered it up right away with a paper! This is not for me. I very much appreciate and value your opinion. I like to see your videos before I buy.
Didn't get this one . I have the one from CC and didn't really like it , so, figured I wouldn't like this either.
I have several CC double sided dies that do this kind of thing, and I like them better! The flower they make is easier to identify as a layered flower...these are just quite different. TY!
I will. not buy, crafter's companion flower die cut is better because it is one piece, , just color and get the same results.
