I really appreciate DK's take on the whole 'Democracy is dying' narrative. One of the rare journalists who can call spade a spade. Our opposition today has completely forgotten the art of fighting on the streets against injustice. Maybe they themselves know that they won't get enough support from people to do that. Hiring 2 rupee IT cell coolies and running hashtag campaigns on Twitter won't fetch them votes.
Singh is better than SG for this show
He is not corrupted by the bias bug
He is far far better that SG as he doesn't have any hidden agenda which is sometimes very visible in other print reporters be it far leftist reporters gang including Vir Sanghvi, Ms Malhotra or Praveen Swami to name few.

I want to begin with saying that I like it when Shekhar Gupta did headlines ke peechey. However I am enjoying it with equal or more enthusiasm when DK Singh is doing it, I would suggest to make Mr Singh do the show on a regular basis and Mr Gupta doing it on a recurring basis. Mr Gupta has good political acumen which he can share with DK on a subject basis. He can delegate more programs to other senior journalists as his plate is full with cut the clutter, national interest and running theprint.
I find that some of the comments are making it a SG vs DK match. Both SG and DK are great journalists. SG has a wealth of knowledge and deep understanding of Indian and International Affairs. I look forward to watching them both in videos of The Print. The Print team is a shining example of free speech and independence of media, even in present tough times. Keep up the good work.
DK's answers are straight to the point with zero hesitation and very very low levels of sugarcoating, if any! Its a breath of fresh air considering the amount of political correctness and truck load of "nuance" nuisance thats prevalent today. Cheers!

@@ravi-it3vj There are two points to be made. One, in upcoming elections, YSRCP is fighting against BJP OR TDP+BJP+JS are in alliance against YSRCP. Why do you think I will be advocating for BJP? Two, its a free country - if I want to simp or pimp for anyone, I am free to do so. Suppose if BJP pays me to voice for them, I will do so. I don't think what I do should be anyone else's business. @@ravi-it3vj You should go out and touch grass. You are seeing the world and politics in black and white - either this or that exclusive positions. Andhra is full of people who like YSRCP in state and BJP in center. Its slightly similar to what you see in Odisha - they want BJD in the state while BJP in center. People are very very colorful and very varied to be put in two boxes of left and right. Left/Right arguments don't fit for India at all.

The question about media coverage of Kejriwal v/s Hemant Soren - my take is it was not about "out of sight, out of mind" - it was about the media being purchased by AAP - so, if they even sneeze, the media reports it in great detail.

Discussing or theorizing democracy and it's decline is the job of scholars; not politicians.... They will have to go to the people, mobilize public opinion, and convey their views on the people.

Thank you for picking up my question. It is obvious that main culprit of Congress decline and the second most important campaigner for the BJP is Shri Rahul Gandhi. In all fairness, he tried. Some were his own faults and some he inherited as historical baggage esp UPA 2 but the end result is that Rahul stands BADLY DISCREDITED and ridiculed as PAPPU. A 3rd Failure should be the END of HIS CHAPTER and I hope even the media pushes for it. For "yatras" to work one needs a major issue and modern India won't respect "dynasties". Rahul could have become a state CM in the last 10 years to demonstrate his abilities but he did NO such thing. It is time he bows out now if he loses the 3rd time.
