Ritchie Ramone was absolutely underrated. He had a very good voice and his drumming was more sophisticated than Marky, but he never was considered as a Ramone. I just imagine this song with the Joey's voice...wow.
All members of "The Ramones" contributed something to the band's wonderful greatness!!! I don't see it, as a , "Who's a better drummer", or "who's the better bassist"!!!! I believe that they all made the band great during their years!!!!
I’ve loved the Ramones since I was a teenager, and somehow I’ve only recently learned about this song as a 43 year old. It’s a shame it never made it onto an album, because I can honestly say it instantly became one of my favorites.
My favorite Ramones song by far. Richie's vocals along with his drumming fucking rip, and Johnny and Dee Dee's guitar and bass add another bit of ferocity that's unmatched imo
Well I mean come on... Richie was a genius technician on the drums, who could sing and wrote legendary songs...while Marky was a replace of Tommy on the better level of technical skill on the drums... Joey also said that Richie saved Ramones in the middle 80's.
Marky is a nice good drummer, but he only continued what his predecessors did. When he replaced Tommy, he kept the pace of the previous albums. Richie came and sped up the tempo, and Marky followed through.
It is. In richies book, he says the line “you know your biggest problem is the way you comb your hair” comes from when Johnny would comb his hair in a weird way before they went on stage
@theonlyharleyquinn I thought it was Johnny that didn't like Richie. In a interview with Richie, he said that Johnny would sit in his hotel room and just play and rehearse, while Dee Dee got lost somewhere doing heroin and drugs, while he and Joey would hang out at the pool, play minigolf, go to pubs and bars having fun.
@kaizendogtraining I started to watch a few Richie´s performance on stage and he did not so bad well ... He looks like a really Ramone !!!!!Ok He was!!! Thanks Richie for a good upgrate during the last 2010 Ramones for ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just converted this from vinyl to cd. Haven't heard since had record player in my parents house 19 years ago. Great song that all the wee celebrity wanx that wear Ramones t shirts mos def haven't heard...
@darkrockdude I love all ramones albums, their later work displays an amazing evolution of songwriting and general growth in the band. Every member brought something to the table. Their first four albums are classic, but I think their best work was with when Ritchie ruled the kit.
R.A.M.O.N.E.S (though there is a joey version,)Journey to the Centre of Mind, The Shapes of Things to Come, My Back Pages, Making Monsters for My friends, The Crusher, Cretin family, Scattergun, Got A lot to Say and more...obviousy the later Ramones albums when DeeDee had left.
They played their last concert in 1996. And the singer (Joey) the guitarist (Johnny) and the first bassist (Dee Dee) are dead. Joey and Johnny died of cancer, and Dee Dee died of an overdose. Joey died 15. april 2001, Dee Dee died 5. june 2002 and Johnny died 15. september 2004
@PhilRamone666 Hey Kumpel!
No, it is the B side of a single release by Beggars Banquet in the UK. Side A has Somebody Put Something... There were several official singles released in the UK with songs like Smash You, Street Fighting Man and others not released in the 12" LP
c.j. was a great bass player and tommy and marky are WAY better drummers then richie. I am a die hard ramones fan and tommy and marky are way better! dee dee was way better then c.j.!

Richie is so cool. Everything about this track is just like him, pure awesomeness.
Because Richie is a true Ramone ever!
We Salute The Ramones,from Brazil!
I’ve loved the Ramones since I was a teenager, and somehow I’ve only recently learned about this song as a 43 year old. It’s a shame it never made it onto an album, because I can honestly say it instantly became one of my favorites.

100% Ramones energy this song! Great song and funny af.
Really looking forward to playing this song in Camden, London on 29th Nov 2011 with RICHIE RAMONE himself! THE RAMONES RULE!!
Was it fun? 🥹🥹
mais uma música que deveria estar nos álbuns.

Richie RAmone contribuyó mucho en esta banda, cantaba, tocaba y componia....GENIAL!
Richie was the best drummer of the ramones...
cant believe they never put richies vocals on album. not even a re release yet
Jamie A2Z83 because he wanted some of that t-shirt money
I am *convinced* that this song is about Johnny Ramone.
It is. In richies book, he says the line “you know your biggest problem is the way you comb your hair” comes from when Johnny would comb his hair in a weird way before they went on stage
Great vocals. No doubt
Richie rules
richie voice is great
This is a gem. It's out of print.
RICHIE RULES!!
The best non-Joey vocal song they ever did to me. RIP lads.
@puppetexecution 1986. Something To Believe In single b-side. He also sang a couple of others that were never released for the Animal Boy album.
punk rock na veia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
amzing!! ramones forever
RICHIE ROCKS!!! cheers from germany!
Grande richieee

They got along in a working relationship
How did they not put this song on the album?
@kaizendogtraining I started to watch a few Richie´s performance on stage and he did not so bad well ... He looks like a really Ramone !!!!!Ok He was!!! Thanks Richie for a good upgrate during the last 2010 Ramones for ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

awesome...it sounds nothing like other Ramones songs
What a fucking great Song.!!
me canso de esperar(M.C.D)
Thats real - GABBA GABBA HEY!!!!!!!!
geez this song has been in my head all day...I don't need an IPOD
Guys its Richie Ramone. there was another Ritchie Ramone with a T for a very short time. don't confuse the two.
Love this song. Richie's Ramones songs were pretty good. Like Smash You also.
@darkrockdude I love all ramones albums, their later work displays an amazing evolution of songwriting and general growth in the band. Every member brought something to the table. Their first four albums are classic, but I think their best work was with when Ritchie ruled the kit.
RAMONES NAJBOLJI KAO I UVEK!!!
perfect!
Good point. Plus the word "babe" is in the song, so on second thought...
Does it matter who's the better drummer? Quit the arguing and enjoy the music as it was meant to be enjoyed.
Amen!!
Octavian Guy Elvis Ramone is an awesome drummer, but he couldn’t play the RAMONES style, so Johnny called Marky to come back.
No, but Ritchie is and always will be head and shoulders above Marky if you're a drummer and know what you're talking about.
Por qué carajo no lo pusieron en el disco a este tema?
nice
Hey same drum beat is in "somebody put something in my drink"!
I bet this song was directed at Johnny, who rarely said anything nice. And Richie did "ealk away". Good singing.
yes i am!
@darkrockdude I agree that he never fit in, but it all comes down to personal taste in the end.
@ZeBratsFRS however much i love Joey, this is Richie man
I think the lyrics are aimed at Johnny ,
They played their last concert in 1996.
Is that Rasputin on the pic?
RARIDADE ETERNA
@penthouse10
I know but we were speaking about Cj's songs,i just wanted to mention that he doesn't sing got a lot to say, joey does... ;)
Lo-bot-o----wait, what?
Very probable...
@PhilRamone666 Hey Kumpel!Wie gehts?Hab jetzt Elevator Operator abgecheckt,is ganz cool,der Anfang is echt 100 % Ben E. you're welcome ;) and yeah alot :(
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YOU CANT SAAY ANYTHING NICEEEE
It certainly fits, but It could possibly be any of them. They were all pretty uncompromising in their own ways.
BINGO *10
i can't say anything nice
YOU can`t say anything nice
But what's so wrong with johnnys hair?? :D
@penthouse10
he doesn't sing got a lot to say man, that was joey's voice.
lol You can't be serious and if you are, that's very sad!
What album is this song on I have never heard it before .
Efri3nd b side to the something to believe in single in the uk
It doesn't bother me when Richie sings...but I hate when CJ sings...Richie was really underated. Joey's still the best!
What album is this song on????????
It was around when they released the Animal Boy album, (1986) but it’s not on the actual album.
Drumming soft, Marky is a power house , overall good song
The Comic Master well aware of that re read and it’s assface Richie singing
Was this a B-side?
Yes.
I'll start a new argument if everyone is tired of debating who the best drummer is.
Is this song about Johnny Ramone?
Its clearly dedicated to a woman
Is this demo from animal boy ?
No, it is the B side of a single release by Beggars Banquet in the UK. Side A has Somebody Put Something...
There were several official singles released in the UK with songs like Smash You, Street Fighting Man and others not released in the 12" LP
Who 's on vocals?
ACRRYBKA Richie Ramone
yyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaa
are you fucking serious about Richie? :-O
really? and Marky what is?
Marky between 83/87 was out. Richie replaced him
vjecnii
okay, and your point is? its my opinion, i prefer marky n tommy over richie.
No
RICHIE É MELHOR QUE O MARKY !!!
i disagree wit u. i think its Marky but everone is entitled to their own opnion
This is so bad compared with the band around "Rocket to Russia". Thumbs down bad!!!
c.j. was a great bass player and tommy and marky are WAY better drummers then richie. I am a die hard ramones fan and tommy and marky are way better! dee dee was way better then c.j.!
Marky is better than Richie on drums but not on voice
Richie was the worst drummer
Zach Zalinman blondies drummer was the worst
Yeah, but Clem Burke only played a few shows.
®¡¢k¥. ®@mone king 👑 of the kidz
Try to find a drummer who can sing and play...
And your sistet
