Awesome projects Rachel! I would love to see more about how you exhausted the machine through the window. It's winter here and I haven't a clue on how that could be done. Great tip on using Canva to find things to design with! Are you using the free or paid version?

Thanks Sara. I literally just opened the window and put the hose quite far out of it. It's just about warm enough to do that here. You can't use the machine under 0 degrees so that's worth knowing if that will make your house that cold in Canada. I have the paid version of Canva.

We just fired up our machine for the first time, and cut a very simple shape on the basswood provided with the basswood setting in the software. But it cut into the bottom of the machine? Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes I have my own shapes engraved into the base! It’s quite common. It probably means that your measuring of the wood wasn’t set correctly so the laser thought it had to cut further. Or the wood wasn’t raised on a honeycomb or the prisms but you selected that option to say it was. How did you have the wood? Raised or on the base?
