  • Sadie is delighted to welcome Cody Carnes, worship leader and songwriter of some of her all-time favorite worship songs. Cody shares how he and his wife, worship leader and songwriter Kari Jobe, first started dating, and Sadie agrees that when you're finding the person you'll marry, it's so important that the people in your life love them too. Cody talks about writing "The Blessing" with Kari, which was released just as the world was going into lockdown and how he's still amazed at the amount of blessings that have resulted from that song. Cody also talks about the world coming out of a time of chaos, where seemingly all truth is questioned, and that Christians have a special privilege in knowing they can trust the Lord at His Word, when He says who He is, what He did, and what He's promised. Cody and Sadie share encouragement that God IS good and that He's the only constant and consistent thing we can count on in this world.

Often times what you NEED to hear is more important than what you want to hear.

These are the types of believers you constantly need on your podcast. Radical followers of Jesus Christ. No time for mediocre Christians. My brother right here truly carries a relationship with the Holy Spirit.

I enjoyed this encouraging conversation. I think it's good to remember that Jesus doesn't see generations just by age, but also by vision, calling, & fire for the Lord🥰🔥

I’m tripping rn because I just realized he was helping plant Gateway church in Scottsdale which was literally right around the corner from the old location of my current church called Impact. I drove by his church every week, that’s so crazy 😭 I love him and Kari sm♥️

I really enjoy & dig christian musicians when their art is done earnestly and with faith. (Don't mind me if I get goofy in the comments section.)
And the topic of this interview was perfect: familiar worship leaders (almost like a "power couple") who are basically more down-home than stage-centric. It captures perfectly where I think most of us in the earnest/honest church are really at right now. I feel like we are going home in a new way - if not there already. It's a new wineskin, a new paradigm of how giving and authority operate in the Kingdom of God.

Thank you Sadie, God is good, I’m in pursuit of him he’s always been in pursuit of me. It’s time I do my part and not live like the rest of the world. It’s hard to but with the power and love of Christ my life can make a turn for the good

I feel as long as the person providing advice/ prayer actually listens to your wants as well and not just assume they know what you need

Hey idk if you read your comments but I’m really struggling with really understanding what faith means. LIKE IVE BEEN PRAYING AND IM CONFUSED. It seems like such a simple thing but I can’t seem to wrap my head around it. So short question long. What does it mean to walk in faith and what does it look like in your life?

Hi, I have been having that a similar question. I have been struggling with giving it all to God and having strong faith. I now he is there and I know what Jesus did was for me, you and everyone else but I struggle with the unknowns of the future and struggle with leaving it to God. I am still working on this and trying to understand it but the best way I can answer your question is walking with faith is living your life for God, having faith is putting your trust in Jesus and know God will get you through life. It’s knowing that the sacrifice Jesus made so we can have a one on one relationship with God, and to be forgiven. its understanding that God loves you and forgives you when you come to him. Walking with faith is following Gods path and the plan he has made for you.
